"Come on, baby, say mama." You egged your 1 year old daughter. You and Kate were in a battle to see if she'd say mama or mommy first.
"No, say mommy." Kate grabbed her tiny hands with a gentle smile and her voice in a cooing tone. "Say mommy, baby girl."
"Nuh uh." You lightly shove Kate out the way who scoffed in fake offense as you kissed your daughter's forehead. "Say mama, sweetie."
"Mommy." Kate crossed her arms, looking at you.
You slowly turned towards her. "Mama."
"Mommy."
"Mama."
"Mommy."
"Mama."
"Momm-"
Your daughter suddenly blurred out excitedly in a squealing scream. "MAMMY!" You both turned to her in confusion.
"Mammy?" Kate questioned with squinted eyes.
"Mama plus mommy equals mammy." You giggled as you solved the mystery, Kate's eyes widening in realization. You both giggled and smiled giddily down at your daughter. "That's right, baby."
Kate kissed your cheek as you picked your daughter up, holding her in your arms as Kate just admired you too. "I'll take mammy only because you're adorable." She personally whispered to your baby who gurgled up at her with a toothless grin. You playfully rolled your eyes before pecking Kate's lips which caused her smile to break out even wider.
