2nd Person POV:
You wandered down the halls of your high school, books in hand, clutched to your chest. You approached your locker, struggling to open it with the books still in your arms when you suddenly felt a strong shoulder, bump yours together, causing you to stumble back a little and drop your materials.
"Whoops." You know that irritating voice from anywhere. You looked up and saw Kate, an evil, teasing smirk on her face as she watched you get on the ground, picking up your stuff. "Watch where you're going."
"You bumped into me." You argued, standing up and quickly opening up your locker, shoving your books in there to prevent Kate from knocking them out of your grip more.
"Mm no, I didn't." Kate shrugged her shoulders, fake innocence written on her face as she looked down at you. "Next time, stay out of my way." She growled and smirked at you once more before leaving the building, her hands stuffed in her varsity jacket.
You sighed, resting your forehead against your locker. Kate Bishop. Classic football jock picking on the nerd. You were mortal enemies, and you absolutely despised her. When you first met her, you thought that she'd at least be kind to you, but no. She clearly wasn't.
-
You rounded around the corner of the building, your hands holding onto the straps of your backpack when all of a sudden two other jocks had you shoved up against the building. One of them said, "Haha, search her shit." She chuckled and since you weren't as strong as them, you were forced to stay against the wall, squirming under there girls touch while her friend grabbed your bag.
But she didn't have long to even open it as a voice stopped her. "Get your fucking hands off of her." The girl growled and grabbed the collar of the person holding you harshly, yanking them back that they fell to the ground on their back. The other person stood up, running with her friend as they scrambled to get away. "And stay the fuck away!"
The voice was familiar to you but you were too scared to even move. You just remained still, slowly sliding down the wall and curling into a ball as soon as you reached the floor. Your eyes got a glimpse of Kate, that was who helped you. She was hurrying to take her varsity jacket off, throwing it over your shoulders as she sat next to you.
She didn't know if you needed a hug or not so she just sat there which you appreciated until you leaned to your side, crashing into her arms. Kate rubbed your back, holding you in her arms as you tried to take deep breaths to steady yourself.
"Let's get you home." Kate whispered after a moment of silence, being the first to stand and offer her hand to you. You wanted to refuse, to leave her, but you couldn't. You've never seen this soft, caring side of her before and you'd like to explore it.
You took her hand, allowing her to pull you up as she grabbed your backpack and materials, helping you to her car. She opened the door for you, lifting you up and into the seat as she set your belongings in the backseat. She shut the passengers door for you, going to drivers side as she looked at you.
"So, where to?"
