Pool Day

2nd Person POV:

Today was a pool day for you and Hailee. A day dedicated for just the two of you on a hot summer day when you both aren't working. The dogs were cooling down inside after a nice walk around the park so you and Hailee took that opportunity to have some alone time.

In Hailee's backyard, she was making sure the water temperature wasn't too cold, but not hot either. She placed a few things on the table in front of two lawn chairs; sunscreen, snacks, drinks, sunglasses, a speaker, and towels.

You were inside prepping the sandwiches, a ham and cheese for you and a turkey one of Hailee. You also washed some grapes, pouring them in a bowl with strawberries that you knew Hailee would love.

You walked outside in your bikini, Hailee in hers as well. "Here." You handed her the sandwich, setting the rest of the food down.

The two of you enjoyed your sandwiches together, softly playing some music on the speaker. Hailee talked to you about her upcoming roles while you blabbed about how excited you were to put out new music.

"Ready to swim?" Your girlfriend stood up, placing her towel in the chair so when she sat back down, it wasn't burning hot.

"I'll join you in a minute." You waved off, sliding your sunglasses on. Hailee shrugged and slowly walked down the steps, into the pool. The water was the perfect temperature and she was happy she wouldn't burn too much.

Sooner or later, you set your sunglasses down on the table and sag on the edge of the pool with your feet dipping in the water. Hailee swam up to you, pushing her wet hair back with a smile.

"Hi." She hung onto your ankles.

You happily returned the smile. "Why hello." You heard E.I by Nelly start playing and it fueled you to get in the pool. "I'm coming."

Hailee excitedly swam over to the steps to greet you there. When you splashed in, you smiled — pleased with the temperature as well.

"I love this song." Hailee hummed, floating on her back. You grabbed a pool noddle.

"Same here." You giggled when she flipped over to sink underwater. She dove right back up and shook her head, pushing her hair back again. "Andele andele mami, E.I, E.I." You began singing quietly to yourself.

Hailee broke you out of your trance by slashing water your way. It was direct hit to your face. "Oops." She shrugged not so innocently.

"You're gonna get it, Steinfeld." You smirked and grabbed your noodle, waving it in the air before smacking it down on her head. Hailee laughed when she heard the foam sound against her head.

"It didn't hurt!" She called out, swimming towards the deep end to escape you.

"Lucky you then, huh?" You giggled and discarded the noodle, quickly following after her. She yelped when you swam fast enough to grab ahold of her waist, keeping her against you. "Gotcha."

"Yeah, you did." She gave up easily with a smile. She kissed your nose, causing you to scrunch your face up. "I get dibs on next song." She pushed too away and began swimming to the steps.

"Cheater!" You yelled through a smile, swimming right after her. You did end up winning and played Coast. She couldn't shake her smile the entire time it was playing. The sight of you singing her song was a joy to see.
