Egg Hunt

(A/N: you're 6 six years old and Hailee's daughter)

Hailee's POV:

I felt a crushing weight crash on top of me, I grunted and held my gut as I quickly sat up from my slumber. Y/N, my daughter, had the most excited grin on her face and a sparkly look in her eyes.

"Mommy, mommy! The Easter bunny came! Come on!" Her tiny little fingers clung to my arm, attempting to pull me up with all her might.

I chuckled at the sight. "Patience, my princess, I have to get dressed." I softly ran a hand through her hair, her hazel eyes (that she got from me) stared into mine. For some reason, they were way prettier than mine.

"Okay, mommy." She mumbled cutely and patiently sat on the edge of my bed. I stood up and stretched a little before kissing her forehead and leaving to her dressed. I came back out 10 minutes later with a lavender purple dress on that had a small 2 inch slit with flats instead of heels. I wasn't going to be in pain all day. I quickly did my hair and makeup — the second I left the bathroom — my hand was being pulled so I was dragged out of my bedroom downstairs of my parents house.

"Sup, Y/N! You ready to go get some eggs that the Easter bunny left you?" Griffin crouched down to her level — she played with the tie that he had on while nodding excitedly — she always liked his ties since he wore some funny ones. The one he was wearing now had bunny ears printed all around it.

My mom turns the corner with my dad hooked around her arm. "I heard the Easter bunny paid a little visit to our backyard~" She sang out to my daughter who's excitement grew with each gasp she let out.

"Mommy, come on! Come hunt them with me!" Y/N yelled and I picked her up, settling her on my hip as I walked outside the sliding doors, our family following behind. Griffin handed Y/N her pink and yellow basket after I set her down. I took a moment to admire how adorable my daughter looked: she was wearing a cute white and yellow patterned dress with a white bow in her hair that was done in pigtails.

"Ready... set... go!" My dad calls out and my daughter was sprinted off the patio into the yard where many colored, plastic eggs stood. I had a basket awaiting for her inside the house, hidden in my closet and I'll give it to her after the egg hunt. I just know she'll have a sugar crash tonight from the amount of candy she's about to consume.

I smiled when she giggled and looked at me each time she picked up an egg. "Mommy, I found a golden one!" The toothless grin she gave me only melted my heart more.

"What's inside?" I asked and Y/N popped the egg open, catching what fell out of it. She held up two rolled up $5 bills in her hands. "You got money? I'm jealous." I joked and made my way down as I crouched to her level — tickling her sides and hearing her cute giggles — it just reminded me that I'd rather be here with the light of my life than anywhere else. I'm so lucky to have had Y/N.
