Raven's P.O.V

"Max .. " I almost whispered to myself.

Kahit saang anggulong tingnan, hindi ako puwedeng magkamali o namamalikmata lang na ang taong nasa harap ko ngayon ay ang mismong nurse na nakakausap at nakakasalamuha ko noon sa sanitarium.

I have a hard time picturing him being involved in all of this. Considering his usually cheerful and humorous personality, I find it hard to imagine him engaging in these activities. He's just a normal, easygoing guy. Well, that's what I thought until now. I'm sure, hindi rin iyon nahalata ni Knox o ni Zariah. He's too good to be acting like a 'good' friend to everyone.

"Cat got your tongue?" Natatawang sabi niya na naglakad palapit sa malaking lamesang kahoy sa kanang bahagi ng silid at sumandal roon bago humalukipkip habang nakatitig sa akin. "You sure didn't see that one coming. I'm the last person you'd expect, right?"

"Hah. You're a convincing liar. Very good at putting on an act. Hindi ko inakalang may tinatago ka rin palang sungay sa ulo," sagot ko.

Napahalakhak siya sa sinabi ko. "It runs in the family. Must be hereditary."

Hindi ko naiwasang pagmasdan siya sa mukha.

His facial expression seemed to change from my perception. I mean, that gentle and seemingly innocent face that I used to see was suddenly disappeared. He now looked stern and dangerous, and his body language signaled danger, as if he was warning me not to let my guard down. With that sinister smile that tells me that people like him shouldn't be trusted too easily.

"Now what? We've already found out who the person we were both looking for is, so, it's best if we should go our separate ways. This is my business now, and I'll decide what I want to do with him. Stay out of this, and let me handle it."

He flashed his smiled again. "That won't do, li'l bean. You can't deal with this alone. Hindi lang ikaw ang gustong pumatay sa kaniya."

"W-What do you mean?"

"I have a proposition for you. Let me help you kill Detective Treacher."

Now that I think about it ..

Learning that Treacher was the one that I've been searching for all this time was quite unexpected.

Hindi ko inaasahang pinaikot niya lang pala ako simula pa noong una.

He fooled me into believing he was a good cop and a detective who wanted to help me, but the truth is, he only used me for his own advantage. This could have been his plan all along, and I might have been nothing more than a pawn in his own game.

He manipulated me into killing the person who brought war and injustice to their family. Who has caused pain and suffering to them. Pero hindi lang iyon doon natapos.

He captured me, brought me to that one-hell-of-a-sanitarium. For what? Para tulungan akong magbago? Pagsisihan ang mga kasalanan ko? Para matuldukan na ang pagiging contract killer ko? That's bullshit!

I'm not sure what his true motives or intentions were behind his actions---

'What you need is a medical treatment. Mas kailangan mo ngayon ng maayos na treatment bago ko sabihin sa iyo ang lahat. Hindi ko alam kung anong kaya mong gawin kapag sinabi ko sa iyo agad nang hindi muna pinag-iisipan ang mga maaaring mangyari,' bigla kong naalala na sabi niya noon sa akin.

Fvck. That must be one of it.

He wanted to help me understand what truly happened ten years ago, and I was clever enough to realize that that could be the reason why he wanted to change my behavior since the beginning.
