{Colin's POV}

I get to Aaliyah's and go to her apartment number. I knock and it takes her a while to come to the door.

"Hey.."

"Can I come in?"

She moves to the side and lets me in.

"Where's Riley?"

"In the room asleep."

"Is it just you two here?"

"Yeah."

"What's going on. Why'd you quit?"

She takes a deep breath.

"I did what I had to do."

"That's not answering my question."

"I really don't know how to even tell you this."

"Just say it."

"Riley's your daughter."

I can't even get any words out I'm so in shock.

"That little girl in there is mine?" She nods her head yes. "And you've known this entire time?"

"Yes. I got pregnant some months before graduation...I hid it from everyone."

"How could you do some shit like that!"

"I did it for you!"

"FOR ME? ARE YOU SERIOUS?"

"Shhh. You're gonna wake her up.

"How the hell you do this for me huh?"

"Everybody knew you were gonna go somewhere, wether it was baseball or football, and when you got your football scholarship, I didn't want to ruin anything."

"That's a bunch of bullshit. You say you knew I was gonna go somewhere, so you had to know I'd make it. I was well capable of taking care of her."

"Yeah, when you got to the NFL. You weren't gonna be there while you we're in college. You had football to worry about. That's four years you would have missed."

"We could have come up with some kind of arrangement. We could have tried to get you enrolled at Nevada. They would have worked with us. You were being selfish."

"I wasn't being selfish."

"Yes you were. And I can't believe you kept something like this away. That should have been the first thing out your mouth when I first saw you in Sophia's office."

"I know. I should have told you then."

"Yeah, you should have told me that day, or maybe before you came in my room for a quick fuck last night."

"I'm sorry."

"I'm sorry too...sorry for ever thinking that I wanted to make things work between us...just to be 100% sure, I want a DNA test. I'm not doubting she's mine, but I just want to be sure."

"I respect that."

I leave to go get an at home DNA test. I go through self-check out so no eyebrows will be raised. I get back to the apartment and Riley's still asleep.

"All we have to do is swab both our mouths, the inside of the cheek, and send the swabs off in the envelope." I hand her one of the swabs. "Try not to wake her up."

While she does that, I swab my mouth and out it in the bag then in the envelope. I do the same with hers.

"I'm gonna drop these off on the way to practice. You need to sit down and explain to her why she hasn't had a father in her life, and then let her know who her real father is. I don't know what the future holds for us, it's definitely not looking bright right now, but because of her, we need to be cordial."
