{Aaliyah's POV}
"Riley...daddy is gonna be here any minute to come pick you up. Get dressed."
"I don't wanna go with daddy. He's no fun anymore."
It's been about a month since Quinton asked me about New York and I still haven't made a decision...I don't know if I'm gonna move.
"Why would you say that. You love going with him."
"I use to. Every time I'm with him..." Which hasn't been often. He's been busy with photoshoots and appearances and stuff. "He's always on his phone, or he'll take me to grandma and grandpa's....then leave me there."
"Why haven't you told me?"
"I don't know." She says shrugging her shoulders.
"Well do you want to go with him today."
"I guess."
"Baby you don't have to if you don't want to."
"Noooo. I'm gonna go. I haven't seen daddy in a while."
"Okay...well get dressed before he gets here. Come on." While I'm getting her dressed, Quinton calls.
"Hello."
"Hey beautiful. Whatchu up to."
"Getting Riley ready to go with her dad."
"Tell her I said hey...and that she owes me a rematch in 2K." Colin has taught her well because they play that a lot. The last time Riley went over Quinton's with me, they played and she best him.
"Quinton says hi...and that you owe him a rematch."
"Can I talk to him." I hand her the phone.
"Hi Mr. Q." "Yeah....I'm about to go with my daddy." "Okay. I will. Bye" she hands me the phone.
"Hey.."
"Rematch date is set." I giggle. "So my real reason for me calling was to ask if you and Riley would like to come with me to New York for the weekend. I have some business to take care of...and seeing that I still haven't gotten an answer, maybe you'd have to see it for yourself to help you make a decision."
"I don't know."
"Just think of it as a small getaway. I'm sure Riley would like it. I think the big city and big lights are kind of her thing."
"You got that right. She's a future superstar...and she knows it."
"Then she's gonna love it. Come Aaliyah..."
"Fine. We'll go."
"Perfect. I will book our flights later on today and I'll let you know the details."
"Okay. I'll talk to you later." I say and we hang up.
"Riley.." She walks out of the bathroom.
"How would you feel, about going on a trip."
"Where?"
"New York."
"That's where the Empire State Building is."
"Yup. How'd you know that?"
"It was in a book at school, and I asked my teacher what it was."
"Well, that's where we're going."
"When?"
"This weekend. So while you're with daddy, I'll pack your stuff."
"Okay." There's a knock at the door and I go get it...and it's Colin.
