{Aaliyah's POV}

After finally getting all nine of Riley's friends home, I take the kids back to the apartment to get ready for the day ahead. Riley wanted to spend her birthday together as a family, and that's what we're gonna do and a little later, Colin has a surprise for Riley. I get a text message from Colin.

My Headache😒: Hey, I'm pulling up.

Me: We'll be outside.

My Headache😒: Okay.

"Riley...come on, daddy's here." I say putting Nate's sweater on.

"I'm ready." She says walking out of her room. We walk out the apartment and downstairs to the truck. I get them settled in the backseat then hope in the passenger side. Colin's all into his phone, I don't even think he noticed we got in the car. But damn he looks extra good today despite his ratchet ass beard and he has a beanie over his head, so his baby fro isn't visible.

"Hello..." I say waving my hand between me and his phone.

"Huh?" He looks over at me.

"You okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine...ready to go?"

"We're ready when you are."

"Daddy, where are we going?"

"Actually, that's up to you bear."

"I don't know.." She shrugs her shoulders. "Can we eat somewhere first, I'm hungry."

"We can do that....that's okay with you?" He asks looking over at me.

"Yeah...it's y'alls day, not mine. Nate and I are just tagging along for the ride."

"Alright then." He puts the car in reverse and backs out of the parking spot and drives out of the apartment complex.

We spend all day doing what Riley wants to do. Eat, go to the mall and shop, House of Air; a trampoline place. But before we decide to call it a quits for the day, that is until dinner, we stop at Riley's final birthday present.

"Are we lost?" Riley asks looking out the window. We're not lost, but we are kind of out in the middle of nowhere. We're at a ranch where Colin bought Riley a horse. It's gonna stay here where it'll get fed and groomed and whenever Riley wants to come out, and ride, she's free to do so. We have to get her lessons first but it's all hers.

"No. We're not lost."

"Then where are we..."

Colin stops and puts the car in park. "Get out and see." Colin opens Riley's door and I get Nate out. The ranch owners are out doing what they do, and one of them comes over and greats us.

"Mr. Kaepernick...it's nice to see you again."

"Likewise." The two shake hands. "This is my son Nate, and My daughter, Riley."

"Hi." Riley says shyly.

"And their mother, Aaliyah."

"Jack, nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you." I say shaking his hand.

"I hear it's your birthday." She nods. "Well happy birthday. Your dad's a pretty cool guy you know that."

"Yeah."

"How cool though?" Colin asks.

"Cool enough to get his 8 year old daughter a horse." He says that and her eyes light up.
