After leaving the doctors office, we go to out for breakfast. One of Riley's favorite spots...IHOP. We get there, and get seated in the separate room instead of the main part of the restaurant. The server comes and introduces himself.

"Hello, my name is Eric, I'll be your server today, can I start you off with something to drink?"

"Orange juice." I say. Colin looks at Riley, waiting for her answer.

"Apple juice." No surprise there.

"Orange juice for me." Colin says.

"Okay, I'll get that right out for you."

"What you want to eat little bear?"

"French toast and bacon."

"What about you mommy?" Riley says.

"Mmmmm. I don't know...the biscuits and gravy sounds really good right about now. What about you daddy?"

"Hmmmmmm...imma go with a short stack and bacon."

The waiter comes back with our drinks then takes our orders.

"I'm gonna put your orders in and the food should be out shortly."

"Thank you." Colin says.

"So when is my baby brother gonna be here?"

"Riley, we don't know what it is yet sweetie."

"It's a boy." Colin reinsures.

"Don't get her hopes up...and don't get yours up. We're gonna find out in 4 more months baby girl...maybe even before that."

"Okay...I'll be okay if it's a girl." Well that's a relief. "But I reaaaally hope it's a boy."

"I hope it is too." I really wanted a girl...but my babies want a boy...so I need to hop on board.

"Daddy, do you have practice today?"

"I actually have the day off...so I get to spend all of it with you and mommy."

"Good. I like it when you don't have practice." He looks at her and smiles.

"Well you know you can always come with me...now that schools out for winter break...mommy has to bring you." He looks at me.

"We can go tomorrow....so have you told your family?"

"Have you told yours?"

"No."

"What you waitin on?"

"I don't know...what are you waiting on?"

"Hell, I don't know. Keeps slipping my mind."

"Yeah right."

"I don't know. I just don't want my mom thinking that we're too young."

"Really...we have a 5 year old daughter and we're doing okay with her."

"I know that...but, I don't know. She could bring up the fact that we're just boyfriend and girlfriend...we need stability in our relationship and by stability, I mean marriage...which brings me back to we're too young.." He says all in one breath.

"Colin. Chill. Okay. I doubt she's gonna think any of that. We're great parents. Our relationship is fine and going in a good direction. Tell them."

"Fine...I'll tell them...you need to tell yours, because I don't see them having a problem with it at all. So you have no excuse."

"I will."

"Good....so I was thinking..the house looks real boring for it to be December...Christmas is this month..." He says.
