No Letting Go [Completed]

Thirty-Nine

The next morning, I wake up, look over at my phone, it's around 10. I look around the room, and see that my girls are gone. A text message comes through.

Aaliyah❤: If we're not back before you wake up, we went out to get breakfast. Be back soon😘

Me: Okay cool. I got worried for a second.

Aaliyah❤: Why, where'd you think we were?

Me: Shit, idk. Just hurry back. I hate not waking up to you."

Aaliyah❤: We'll be back soon.

About 20 minutes later, they're walking through the door. Riley hops on the bed and crawls next to me.

"Take off your shoes, Riley." Aaliyah says and she does so.

"We brought you breakfast, daddy."

"I see that. Thank you."

"You're welcome." Aaliyah brings the food over and hands us our food. She sits on the bed and we eat.

"So what's on the agenda for today?" I ask.

"My family is having a BBQ later...and we're invited. You get to meet all my aunts, uncles and cousins....there's a lot of them."

"Good. I wanna meet them all, so everyone can come to the wedding."

"What wedding....you're gonna get married?" Riley says.

"That's up to daddy..." Aaliyah says then looks at me.

"Yeah, we're gonna get married one day."

"One day?"

"Yeah....one day. And you get to help be a part of that special day too."

"How?"

"You're gonna be our flower girl. Just you."

"What does that mean?"

"Well..you get to walk down the isle right before I do, and throw flower petals on the ground. You also get to wear a pretty dress and everything." Aaliyah says and Riley gets excited.

"Can we do it soon?"

"I don't know. Like I said, it's up to daddy..." Riley crosses her arms and looks at me. I look down at her and smile.

"I'll make it happen...don't worry." I give her a kiss on the forehead. "What time is this BBQ though?"

"Starts at 3."

{Aaliyah's POV}

I'm nervous for Colin to be meeting the rest of my family. He doesn't seem to be all that nervous. This will be Riley's first time meeting some of them too. But knowing her, it won't take long to warm up to everyone. Five minutes in and she'll start talking everyone's ear off.

We get to my uncle's house, where the BBQ is taking place. "Smells good out here!" Colin says as we walk up to the house. We go through the gate on the side of the house. Everyone's excited to see me. It's been a while.

"Oh shit, it's Colin Kaepernick." One of my cousins say as he notices Colin carrying Riley behind me.

"How you doin man?" Colin says extending his right hand and my cousin shaking it.

"Colin this is my cousin Ricky...Ricky this is Colin." He surveys Colin...then surveys the way Colin is holding Riley..then looks at me.

"Yo, are you dating Kaepernick."
