Time goes by and it's time to pick up Riley. I pull up to the school, and wait outside. I see her class walking out the building, and she smiles when she sees me. She lets her teacher know that I'm here. I look over and wave at her. I pick Riley up as she runs up to me.
"Hey pretty girl."
"Hey mommy...where's daddy?"
"Daddy's still at practice."
"When's he coming home?"
"A couple hours. Geez, no love for your mommy." She smothers me with kisses on my cheek.
"I love you so so so so so so much!"
"I love you too Riley bear." We get to the car, she gets buckled in and we head home.

"Want anything special for lunch today or do you want me to surprise you?"
"PB & J is fine."
"You got it...any homework?"
"No. Just reading today."
"Well after you finish lunch, we can work on reading a little bit."
"Can we do it later. I wanna go outside and ride my bike."
"School comes first Riley, you know that. Besides...I'm sure daddy is gonna want to take you outside himself so he can teach you how to ride with out training wheels."
"That's why I wanna go outside with you, and not him." I give her a confused look. "I'm scared to learn. I don't want to."
"You still need to read first though Riley."
"I don't have to go ride my bike then do I."
"Only if you want to."
"I don't want to...because daddy might come home."
"Okay, well we can find something else to do. Maybe he can take you to the park or something." She nods. "Go put your bag in the living room and go wash your hands so you can eat."
While she does that, I make her a pb&j, cut it into four squares and out it on one of her Disney character plates. I put some apple juice in a cup. I also cut up some strawberries and give her some grapes in a bowl.
"Thank you mommy."
"You're welcome baby." My phone starts ringing. I go over to the counter to check and it's Colin.
"Hey babe."
"Hey..just got out of practice, bout to swing by chipotle...you and Riley want anything?"
"I'm good...and she's eating on a pb&j right now, so I think she'll be good till dinner."
"Sounds good. So are we gonna tell her about the baby?"
"Yeah...I mean, we kinda have to. She's gonna notice my stomach getting bigger and bigger." I say in a low tone so she won't hear me.
"Well duh, I know we have to tell her...but how soon. Till you start showing or?"
"We can do it tonight during dinner."
"How do you think she'll take it?"
"She should be good with it."
"I don't know...she seems like she'd only want to be the one and only child."
"And if she is, it's because you made her that way, Colin."
"You know what...I can't even argue with you, because you're absolutely right. I've spoiled the hell out of her and I don't regret it one bit."
"I'm regretting it for you." He laughs.
