Forty-Four

[4 Months Later - Mid April]

{Colin's POV}

"Aaliyah.....baby you ready?" I say as I make my way up the stairs. Today's the day we find out what we're having. I just dropped Riley at school. I have OTAs later on today, but first...doctor's visit. This past off season was spent in Arizona. Sadly, Aaliyah and Riley couldn't come because Riley has school, but luckily, I've been able to make it to the appointments. Haven't missed one yet, and I don't plan on missing any.

"Almost." She yells.

"Almost?" I walk into the room and she's sitting on the bed putting on her shoes. "I got it." I kneel before her and put her shoes on and tie them.

"You are the sweetest...you know that...I love you." I help her up and wrap my arms around her waist.

"I love you more...now come on, we're gonna be late."

We leave and get to the doctors office. We're both really anxious. Having a boy would kinda complete us as a family...and we wouldn't have to try for a while. She gets called and we head to the back.

"So welcome back....we're almost there." The doctor says.

"Almost." Aaliyah says.

"Is everything the same...anything new at all that you're concerned about?"

"No...my sex drive is still through the roof." They both share a laugh. I'm enjoying the high sex drive...like she's giving it to me more than just on the regular.

"As I've said before, that tends to happen with some women. It can change towards the end of the pregnancy. Just make sure that sense you are this far along, that you know, it's more gentle that usual." Aaliyah looks at me and I look away...blushing.

"He knows that....now."

"Well it's better to know sooner or later. So, are you ready?"

"Been ready." I say.

"I'm ready."

"Okay...lets get started and find out what you're having."

She puts the gel on Aaliyah's growing belly. I think that's been the best thing to witness; her belly growing continuously, and knowing that my kid is there.

"Ooookay. Every thing looks normal...lets see if he or she will cooperate with us." She moves the thing around her belly and settles on one spot.

I look at the screen and can clearly tell it's a boy. He's practically giving us a show. "Oh shit, it's a boy." I say before the doctor can say it.

"It is indeed a boy. Congratulations. He's not a shy one either."

"Like father, like son." Aaliyah says as she gets cleaned off.

"I will be back shortly. Congratulations once again. I know Riley's gonna be excited." She says and walks out.

"I'm having a son." I say.

"We're having a son...now our little family is complete."

"Well....it's almost complete." She gives me a confused look. I was serious when I said I wanna marry her. I'm willing to be tied down for life with this woman because what we have is real. We're only 23 but who cares. I make enough money to support us, we both have degrees, we'll be okay.

I'm gonna wait till our one year anniversary, which is in September...maybe October. Depends on when our son is born. 

"And what does that mean?"

"You'll find out soon." I say then smile.

"What are you up to Colin Kaepernick?"

"You don't worry about that. You just worry about keeping you and baby Kap healthy, and let me handle my business." She rolls her eyes.
