[A Couple Weeks Later]
{Colin's POV}
Valentine's Day has rolled around and I want this to be a special one. Mainly because I'm proposing again. Last year, on this very day, I wanted to give her the engagement ring back but she said it wasn't the right time. It's been a year, I think it's the right time, and it's been a strong year for us, especially with the birth of our baby boy, everything's going great.
I get up early this morning to get Riley ready for school and I let Aaliyah sleep in.
"Riley Marie...wake up baby girl, time for school."
"Mmmmm." She groans.
"Come on...I told you to take your butt to bed last night and what'd you do?"
"I don't know." She mumbles.
"You didn't go to bed, that's what."
"Daddy, I'm tired."
"I know. But do I care? Nope. Now get up." I pull the blanket off of her.
"PAPAAA!!"
"Rileeeyyy." I say mocking her. "Come on. Papa will carry you to the bathroom." I pick her up and carry her to the bathroom. While she brushes her teeth, I go back in her room, make her bed and make sure all of her work made it into her backpack.
"I'm ready for you to do my hair now."
She says walking into the room."Get dressed first, then I'll do it...what you want, pony tail, bun? Half up, half down?"
"What about a French braid?"
"A what?"
"French braid."
"Yeah, ion know how to do that. So pony tail, bun or half up, half down. That's all I can do."
She sighs heavily. "Daddy, what are you good for?"
"Hmm, putting food on the table for your and your brother, putting a roof over y'alls head and clothes on ya back...now, what do you want?"
"A pony tail I guess."
"With a big bow?" She smiles and nods. "Okay. I can do that for you."
I do her hair, get her fed, then we leave. We pull up to the school and she climbs to the front seat.
"You and mommy are still gonna come to the Valentine's Day party, right?"
"Yup. That's the plan...but I wanted to show you something."
"What is it?"
I reach into my pocket and pull out the box that holds the ring and open it.
"Is that mommy's?"
"Yup. And this time, we're gonna get married. No more mess ups from daddy. I promise."
"Good. But you gotta promise that to mommy."
"And I will, don't worry." She smiles. "I love you daddy."
"I love you too bear. Have a good day at school."
