Interrupting a Quiet Existence

This is gonna be a long one so sorry for that, but hey, that's what a special does to you! I'll say more after the long story, some of it may cover questions you've got about it, so I'll see you down there! BTW this is my first time writing solo on a story/idea I've had (since I mainly draw) so please excuse any mistakes I make!

The thing you need to understand about the old legends is that-

Yaaaaawn.

A young female stretched before she slowly opened her eyes, pausing only to move her messy hair out of her face. 'What time is it?...' The young female got out of bed and made her way to her heavy blinds before opening them slowly. She, unfortunately, still had to cover her eyes so they could adjust to the brightness of the midday sun. 'Oh... Oh no, I'm so dead!' She rushed over to her nightstand but tripped and let out a rough squeak, though that didn't stop her from snatching her phone off the nightstand from where she was on the floor. 'SHIT!' Her panicking was interrupted by another text from Pigsy, his 25th one to be exact (boy does he worry), but that simply made her curse in her mind even faster before answering the message with her own. 
"Sorry boss man!"
She paused and read over it before adding onto the text.
"I didn't mean to sleep in. I guess my body decided it needed to rest more."
A long pause came as she got ready for the day before she heard a notification tune from her phone.
"Just get here already! You're causing us to fall behind on deliveries more than MK!"
Her boss all but yelled through the text with those exclamation marks before she nodded, paused, then realized this was over text so he couldn't see her.
"I'm on my way now!"
After that message, she quickly fixed her hair, but she stopped at the mirror in her bathroom and let out a small and rough 'oof' noise at her appearance. The female in question, Linwan, had the typical work outfit on with black jeans and a thick red hair tie for her dark brown ponytail, which went down to her midback due to the hair's length. Her bangs seemed to hide some of her right eye, but that didn't stop her left eye from showing off her eye bags as if they were the newest in fashion trends. Their dark coloration was accentuated further due to her more hazel eyes looking dimmer than when she got the right amount of rest as well as her skin being a bit paler than usual. She could already hear the others asking her about it all... Again. In the end, she had to shake her head clear of those thoughts so she could grab her keys and leave her apartment, definitely being sure to lock up before she headed towards her work place.

By the time she made it, it seemed like a... well like a bad time, maybe? Probably. See, when she came in to the lovely establishment that is Pigsy's Noodles, she saw a few things. Firstly, a table was broken with both a green color schemed girl and her pig boss seeming shocked about it. Next, she saw her coworker being held up by a scholarly looking man, or rather his arm was. Though she only managed to hear the last bit of what the scholar said: "- wield to seal away evil! Wait a minute. Why do you have it?" She tilted hear head slightly before her boss continued, likely not noticing her just yet. "All right, I'll bite. If the staff is here, then where is the demon punk now?" Next, came the green colored girl, who spoke while holding her phone. "He's at the shoe store." Everyone now cut in, or rather, everyone except Linwan. "WHAT?!" Again, her boss spoke. "This better not be another one of your puppy videos, Mei!" Mei, that green colored girl, laughed and scrolled away from a puppy video while Linwan now seemed a bit surprised by what she said as she scrolled. "There's always time for a puppy video, but no. Look what just started trending. #DemonBullKing!" Everyone seemed to look a bit worried after a specific video played of DBK and a red-haired boy before Linwan cleared her throat, which then caused everyone to look at her. A small silence overtook the room before her coworker began waving his arms around and spoke up. "Lin! Look at what I have! It's Monkey King's staff!!" He seemed to get more excited as he waved the staff around and rambled about what happened, causing everyone to move away a bit, but Linwan simply gave an amused huff in response.
