While following the T.E.A. to Lantern City, Macaque found himself stopped by a certain demon who looked rather happy despite his progress. "My Champion, are you on your way to retrieving Sun Wukong and his protege?" He went to answer, but she continued. "Your own protege was painfully undisciplined." "Was?" A shredded hair tie found itself floating in front of him and he quickly snatched it from the air, staring at it once it was in his hands. "You said-" "I am aware of what I said. She continued to fight her destiny and, unfortunately, had to face her end." He held in a growl, already feeling he knew how this happened. "Remember that you cannot fail. You're still indebted to me, after all. Now, go." She vanished before he could even blink, leaving him to stare at the hair tie again before shoving it into his scarf and continuing with a different plan in mind.

Macaque glanced out from the shadows as the group was preparing for their talent show. "Remember when I said the whole stage fright thing is kind of a joke?" He heard Wukong ask his student, who only replied with "Wasn't a joke?" "Not even a little bit." "Sun Wukong, self-proclaimed Great Sage, Equal to Heaven, is scared to perform in front of a crowd?" That made the shadow user snicker softly. "I know, I know. It doesn't make any sense." He glanced down at the pocket that had the hair tie in it. "Hear that kid, Sun Wukong has stage freight." Maybe this wasn't a healthy coping mechanism, but he needed to do this for a bit dammit! Just until he got out of this nightmare of helping the Lady. "And what about me?" The scholar spoke up which made the warrior look over, paying attention again. "Oh, Mr. Tang. For you, I've saved the most important role of all. There isn't a band on Earth that can have any hope to win the Ring of Light without-" MK suddenly shoved a clipboard into the man's chest. "the band manager." "Wait, what? You're benching me?" "Pretty much. All right team. Let's go win ourselves that last Ring of Samadhi." Macaque smiled a bit. "The Samadhi Fire, huh? So that's how you're going to beat the Lady Bone Demon." He thought back to what she said for a moment causing his smile to drop. "One misstep, one failure in any way, I will erase the very memory of you." "We'll see about that." He growled a bit and allowed himself to sink back into the shadows.

Linwan had tired herself out just getting to the sky train that got to Lantern City. She had traveled nonstop for the past... how long was it? She really didn't pay attention. She had used so many portals that reached across the horizon. She almost fell into the ocean so many times that she naturally began turning into a bird after each portal was passed through. It was exhausting on her and her poor limbs. 'Man, these guys were way further than I thought. Gotta catch up before anything happens though...' She hopped onto the top of the train and thought about it for a moment before attempting to meditate again. She made it to the girl nearly immediately this time and sighed as she plopped down. "Hey kid." "Linwan!" She blinked then looked at the girl. "Hey, I hear you that time." "Really?" "Loud and clear." She gently touched her ears. "So it was her magic stopping me." She saw the girl lay on her stomach, so she followed suit and even gently kicked her legs. It was almost like a sleepover. Almost. "You look tired..." "Oh, yeah. Well, that demon that's possessing you let me stretch my legs and sent me to go take down MK and Monkey King." "MK? The bandana guy? Isn't he your best friend?" "Yeah. Look, I'm not looking to help her. I just wanted to get out. Now that I am, I'm tracking them down and then we'll get you out of this too." "Really?" "Of course!" She ruffled her hair and the little girl seemed happy with that answer. "Where are you right now anyway?" "Sitting on top of the train that goes to Lantern City." "On top?" "Eh, I didn't have the money to ride it properly. It'll be fine! I'm in a nice nook so I can't fall off." "Is that... Safe?" "Totally!... Okay, maybe not, but I used to travel like this all the time." The little girl looked concerned which made Linwan mumble. "... Okay that sounds bad." She rubbed the back of her head as she gave an awkward chuckle. "Either way, I'm fine. This'll be like napping for me, but I'll be able to sense stuff happening out there." "That's cool." "Mhm. So while we're here... Anything you want to talk about?" She raised her right brow a bit then let the rambling begin, though she did manage to hear a lovely performance beginning.
