Most of this chapter will be from Macaque's POV. The first chapter that didn't focus almost entirely on our girl. With that said...

WARNING there will be injuries, blood, and very brief trauma being touched on so insecurities are talked about.

If you can handle that, enjoy this chapter!

Linwan had slowly woken up to see Macaque changing her head towel, which made her shiver. "Oh, you're awake again." He had tried to sound nonchalant but she had heard the bit of relief in that tone. She simply blinked at him. "Still feeling sluggish?" "Mhm..." He sighed a bit before sitting back and crossing his arms. "Well, since we won't be training, I've got a few things to do today. You stay in bed and I'll be back, got it?" She slowly went to sit up but her mentor stopped her. "What did I just say?" She looked at him then sighed. "Stay in bed..." "And?" "And you'll be back." "Atta girl." He got up and gave her a gentle pat before leaving through one of his portals. She stuck her tongue out once she was sure he couldn't see her. "Worry wort." Well, since he was gone. She glanced at her shadow which was perfectly laid against her wall and earned two glowing circles then a wobbly grin from it. The mauve glowing grin was less Cheshire in nature but it meant the same thing to the girl. 'Let's do this then.' And like that, she began to slowly practice on her shadow.

Macaque softly popped his back as he waited for the Monkie Kid to show up. He had brought himself close to Pigsy's Noodles since it meant Linwan would be less likely to see the giant smoke avatar that he created. Huh, maybe he could teach it to Linwan. What would hers look like? He shook his head when he heard Mei and MK talking. He watched as the kid flung himself at the avatar but got thrown harshly into the ground, earning a snicker from the monkey. "Show time." He created his staff, a black cudgel with his signature purple glow, and jumped across the rooftops in the flashiest way imaginable. He ignored the voices below him as he spun around a bit and created a gust of wind that he flung at his avatar, "defeating" it. "Yes, Monkey King!" Macaque looked over at MK and watched as he fell off, then went to leave before MK was suddenly in front of him. 'How the fu-?!' "That was awesome. I can't believe you came back to-" He watched the boy run about then deadpanned at him when he realized Macaque wasn't exactly Monkey King. "Oh, this is awkward. You're not Monkey King." The monkey scratched his cheek gently as he smirked. "I get that a lot. Monkie Kid, right?" "How did you-?" "Your staff kind of gives you away, dude. Not just anyone can wield that thing." He motioned to the staff, which made the hero look at it. "Uh," he looked at Macaque before continuing, "sorry. Who are you?" He let out a small huff of amusement as he crossed his arms. "Macaque." He rubbed the back of his head and looked away as he continued, "Actually, the "Six-Eared Macaque" is, you know, my full name." He gave a shrug and began walking off as he spoke again. "Well, see you around, MK." MK had other plans, seeing as the boy rushed ahead and turned to Macaque with stars in his eyes. Linwan's excitement was one thing, but MK's... Too bright. "Can you teach me that awesome thing?" "Uh," Macaque paused as he gave an airy chuckle and backed away since this boy was in his face, "don't you already have a Master? I thought Monkey King was training you." Now it was MK's turn to nervously back away. "Ah, yeah, yeah, no, he-he is." "But you can never have too many teachers, right? I'm sure Monkey King would agree. It's not like he would want to hold you back." "Um, yeah." The boy straightened up. "Yes. He totally would be cool with it." "All right then." He took MK's shoulder and began leading the boy, smirking as he changed the symbol on his jacket. MK had just fallen hook, line, and sinker which made Macaque pat himself on the back.
