MK might begin to get annoying here. I'm trying to stick to his character, so I've been rewatching season 2-4 and seeing just how annoyingly boastful/full of himself he can get. Good material for this new shift.

Despite resting nonstop for a few days, Linwan still had some tender ribs. She figured a walk would help, but the pain persisted so she gently rubbed at it. "Still hurting?" She looked over to see her mentor was now next to her which made the girl jump with a small squeak. "Mac!" She cleared her throat when she realized how high pitched her voice became, but that just made him laugh. "Wow, where did you go to get spooked by lil ol' me?" A small sigh came from the girl before she rubbed the back of her head. "I was just thinking about stuff." "Yeah?" He put an arm around her carefully and pulled her against him so they were forced to walk practically hip-to-hip. She never really minded this, but gave a huff anyway. "Yeah. Stuff like-" She squeaked when her phone went off, then she pulled it out. "Hey, I thought you turned that off." "I did..." She stared at the screen and heard an ad chirp in an annoying tone: "Sleep Bug! Get it from the nap store!" She growled at it. "Oh great." "What?" "It's a damn virus. I should get this to Mei. She'll know how to fix it... Probably." "The Dragon Horse girl?" "Yeah, Mei is pretty good with this type of thing. It's... scary sometimes. In fact-" She outwardly thought back to when she found a camera on herself and quickly went to Mei about it, only to have the girl nervously take it back. That day she learned Mei had planted cameras on everyone and asked her not to leave one on Linwan. By the end she shivered then shook her head. "Yeah, I feel she'll be able to fix this." She ignored the concerned look her mentor had at her memory. "Wait, cameras?" "Hm? Oh, yeah. It was a thing. Don't worry though, I don't have one on me... I hope." He became more concerned and went to say something. "Anyway! Can't have this glitching out and stuff if some other demon appears and the others try to call me! I'll be quick though, so take your time here!" She dropped through a portal before he could get a word out.

Now walking down the street to Pigsy's, Linwan paused and looked around. "Huh... What's going on with everyone?" She peeked at the closest sleeping body and ended up leaning in, much to the displeasure of her ribs. "They're asleep? Weird." She stood up straight and went to continue her walk, but stopped when she saw MK crying in front of a cart filled with random objects and a sleeping Pigsy. 'Him too, huh.' She was about to walk over but stopped to take in just how MK looked. A robe, pink slippers, disheveled hair, even dark bags under his eyes. She snickered a bit at how dramatic the hero could be when upset, then went to fix his mood. "Wow, just got out of bed or something?" A gasp was heard before she was tackled by a blur, wincing slightly at the boy who was now on top of her. 'Ow. Keep it in, keep it in.' She took a breath to keep in the pain filled hiss that wanted to escape then peeked at MK with a nonchalant look. "Sup." He excitedly rambled but Linwan stopped him with a hand to his mouth. "Woah woah, breathe! I can't understand you when you ramble and cry MK." Linwan gave a nervous chuckle before the boy calmed down, then she removed her hand. "I'm glad you're not asleep Lin. Wait, why aren't you?" "Uh... You know, I was going to ask you the same thing." He got off of her and she sighed in relief before noticing the boy staring at Pigsy. Both phones went off, cutting into MK's moment of whatever that was, and both young adults looked at them quickly. MK let out an annoyed "who's calling me?" before getting excited at the idea of yet another human being awake, but Linwan just growled at hers. "Aw, it's just some game." That made Linwan shove herself next to MK and, while cheek-to-cheek, she heard that annoying voice again: "Sleep Bug! Get it now from the nap store!" "Ew.. you have the virus too." "Virus?" She held her phone up next to MK's cracked one and he blinked a few times when he saw they were the exact same.
