✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄Linwan⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧"The White Tiger and Teal Dragon Festival: a world-renowned showcase of art, culture, and culinary street food delights. And this year, as a special treat, the festival is CRAWLING WITH CELESTIAL WARRRIORS WHO ARE ALL LOOKING FOR US!" Tang panicked a bit before hiding back in the bush the group was peeking out of. Linwan huffed at the army that was scattered about at the ready then followed the others back. Mei had just waved Tang's worries off by speaking up, but Linwan was sure it didn't help the scholar feel any better. "Relax Tangy. I think the Celestial Host has better things to do than chase little ol' us-es." "Mei's right." Linwan raised a brow at Sandy as he continued. "They got to have their hands full with that donked up sky." "Exactly, and we're the ones they think are responsible. We can't go in there. We're wanted fugitives!" The girl hushed the scholar when she heard a nearby person panic a bit and Pigsy slapped a hand over his mouth. "Okay, dial it back, we are trying to hide here, but yeah this, uh, this does seem like a terrible idea." "Look, two of the stones pretty much found us and we were barely even using our searching caps." MK smiled. "It's like we found them cause of des-" "Do NOT say that word!" Pigsy cut his kid off as Linwan rubbed her arms with a shudder. Curse that word for still being used... "Ah, fine. But I don't know. This. This just feels right. We've got to choose our own path and be here now." Sandy, Wukong and Linwan all smiled at that. 'Finally taking those lessons to heart? Nice.' "Now don't you go rubbing your special stone fighting adventures in our face MK! Oh, imma going to go on ultra fun side quests with my best buds Monkey King, Li-Li, and Sandy!" All three averted their gazes awkwardly with Wukong rubbing the back of his head as he spoke. "I wouldn't say ultra fun." "Gotta agree..." Linwan literally went through flashbacks as she held her hoodie's bottom hem in nervousness at the memories. Sandy tapped his fingers together. "Yeah not exactly how that played out." "All I know is we're waaaaay overdo for a classic MK and Mei adventure!" Mei showed off the poster. "White tiger and Teal Dragon. That's basically my thing! Huh! Huh!" She held her hands out as if proposing this idea was the best one yet, then she decided to try jumping out of the bush with a loud "Le'gooo!" Tang pulled her back in and held her by the shoulders. "People will recognize us! We're not the most inconspicuous bunch." The scholar looked at three people in particular: Pigsy, Wukong, and Sandy... who had an expression that was close to crying. "What are you saying to me?" Sandy almost sniffled but Linwan rubbed his knee gently. "You do stick out big guy..." Tang gave a nervous look then tried to defend his point. "I'm saying we're easy to recognize!" "Oh!" Everyone looked at MK as he put a hand to his chin and smiled smugly. "If we need to hide in plain sight, we'll have to use my most powerful ability of all!" Pigsy gave a confused "what?" while Mei gave a "woooow". "Borrowing stuff from that merch stooooore!"
Everyone had rushed in to take things from the store while Linwan snorted, then she joined them in their purchasing of costumes. "Um... That's not enough..." Linwan glanced at the clerk to see MK had given her junk out of his pockets. Things like gum, a paperclip, a small gummy bear, and lint were found... but only one coin. She sighed and searched her pockets for stuff that could help with payment, only finding a few more coins that she counted out. It wasn't enough either buuut at least it wouldn't be complete theft. With that, she put them near the scared clerk and silently apologized before going to see what the others had. MK had shades and a dragon hat, Mei had silly whisker glasses and a tiger hat, Wukong had a tiger scarf and a dragon mask (that made her snicker and try to snap a photo for Mac to see later), Sandy had a tiger mask, Pigsy had dragon glasses, and Tang... he had a headband with both a tiger and a dragon on it. Linwan simply tied a tiger cape around herself before frowning a bit. This was silly, sure, but she wished it was her dad's cape. To get out of that stump, she hid her scar and wore a dragon horn headband... then altered her appearance ever so slightly. At a glance, she likely wouldn't be noticed. "No one will know it's us." MK smiled but Pigsy spoke up with a frown. "Are you kidding? Everyone's gonna know it's us." "Festival goers, it's your best DJs again, Jin and Yin, the Gold and Silver DJs!" Everyone looked over at the loud voices but Linwan peeked about to see if the army was distracted by this too. When she saw them continuing, she narrowed her eyes a bit and looked back up at the stage. "We're the greatest musician duo slash karaoke MC's the festival circuit's ever seen!" "Oh, karaoke?" "You like karaoke?" "Hm?" She looked over to see MK looking at her with confusion. "Ah, well... when I'm alone, I like to sing. Not very good at it though." "Oh yeah?" She looked at Mei and blushed a bit. "It's true! Besides, I can't sing in front of people!" "We'll get you to sing for us someday, believe in that Li-Li." "I'd like to see you try." She huffed then looked at the stage in surprise at seeing Tang on stage. "Wait when the fu-?" "-a chance at guaranteed super stardom!" "Super stardom not guaranteed." "Welcome to the stage... THIS GUY!" "Wait, you don't recognize me?" Tang gave the twins a confused look but they just looked at him in confusion as well. "Never seen you before in our lives." "HA SEE? TOLD YA!" MK shouted before the twins went to their set. Linwan started speaking as she watched them start before looking at the group. "We have to get Tang off that stage so we don't attract- WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" The entire group was eating popcorn as they watched Tang struggle on stage and Linwan sighed in disappointment before MK offered her some. She paused then accepted her fate of watching Tang suffer with the group by taking a handful and shoving it into her mouth. At least she didn't get dragged up there.
