Macaque had been walking through the desert, having followed the group from the ocean here. 'I should check on that...' He sighed as he brought out a silver compass and opened it, ensuring he was going the correct way. He glared at it and ended up thinking back on just what led to this moment of him having this cursed contraption.

He was thrown into a portal and seen Linwan with pained eyes. "DAD!" He stumbled and rushed back towards Linwan, but the portal shut on them both before he could. He had almost fallen off of the mech he had been sent to then looked back when he heard chains moving around. An irritated Linwan was placed near the Monkey King's staff, loosened chains tightened before she scoffed. Nearly no time had passed for him, but things clearly happened that he missed. He looked up to see the Lady Bone Demon. "The staff. The city. You've been busy." He tried to remain calm as he spoke, avoiding staring at Linwan to ensure focus remained off of her. "Tell me. What madness overcame you, that you would forsake your oath? When did you decide to betray me?" "Listen, Lady Bone De-" A burst of energy made Linwan wince slightly. "Have you forgotten who I am? What I am! I, who returned you to the mortal plane. All in exchange for such a little favor. That when the time came, you would free me, aid in my pursuit of equilibrium. But no. With the first breath of a new life, you rebelled against your fate and even found a protégé. Fool." While speaking she forced images of the past into his mind, making him writhe on his knees before he painfully looked at her again. "So. You want something." "I offer one more chance at redemption. Bring me the Monkey King and his protégé and perhaps you will be worthy of my mercy." He bit back a growl before taking a glance at his Little Shade who had wide eyes focused on him. "And my student?" "I'll allow her to remain by your side." "Mac, no!" She paused to create the silver compass and he blinked at it as it floated in front of it before dropping into his hands, ignoring his student for now. "And this is-" "A compass of sorts. No matter where they flee, this will find them." He got up as he spoke. "Convenient." He tossed it in the air and caught it quickly. "All righty, then. Seems like they've got a bit of headway, so-" Chains coming out of the ground rose up, interrupting him as they pulled him down. "What is this?!" He glared at the Mayor behind him as Linwan squirmed in her own chains. "A reminder." He looked at LBD. "It seems you cannot be trusted to willingly follow the path of destiny. But know this. If you betray me again, one misstep, one failure in any way," His head began to be shoved towards an icy blue portal that had opened up under him, "I will erase the very memory of you both. Now, bring them to me, my champion." His head was slammed into the portal. "No!" His little girl's scared voice was cut off as he went through.

Linwan sighed as she tried to relax in her curled form against the wall of her "wonderful room". Okay, so Macaque had ended up not capturing the two heroes. No big deal! It was good that MK and Wukong got away! That demon had already shown him what could happen to her if he "messed up", so he obviously told them and made it seem like they got away. He really was too smart for this lady. Yeah! She knew it was a lie... But did it to ease herself anyway. Those three would probably be too hero and villain to even speak aside from venomous words and harsh banter. With that in mind though, she eased into the wall and stretched her legs out before glancing at her shadow. 'What do you think, Vi? Lily?' Although neither appeared (since she was conserving her energy for now), she imagined one would move up and down while the other moved side-to-side. 'You can't say yes and no! We have to be on the same page here.' Now the two sets did the opposite of their first choice. From a yes and no to a no and yes... Great... she leaned back again and thought over how her mind just couldn't pick one option, then shook those thoughts away. 'Think about training instead, Lin. That always calms you down. It should impress Mac when I get out of here too!' She paused her thoughts when she felt the chill of a presence. "My champion mustn't fail again. You realize that, yes?" Linwan shuddered and rubbed her arms. 'Lady Bitch Demon, huh.' Her eyes shone blue and she squeaked before holding her head. 'I'm sorry! I was joking! Please stop!' The pain slowly subsided and she laid onto her side as she softly panted. "Ensure that joke does not happen anymore." 'Right.' She tried to relax and gave a relieved sigh before softly groaning to herself as LBD continued to speak.
