The large lion gripped onto the bamboo scroll tightly as MK began to look concerned. "Explain yourself, Azure." Mei spoke up. "What are you-?" MK began but Tang spoke up, interrupting his question. "Azure's been lying to us, MK." "Lying? About what? Who even is this guy?" Linwan gave everyone a confused glance. 'Dammit, why am I always left confused?!' "Um... Maybe we should give Mr. Lion a chance to explain." Sandy spoke up, making the young warrior nod in agreement. An explanation would be very helpful right about now. "Y-yeah, maybe we just need more information." She spoke loud enough to be heard by everyone, clearly wanting to avoid yet another fight, especially because her and MK weren't exactly stable at this moment. "I saw it, Lin! Here. Wherever this place is. Him! Plotting to take down the Monkey King. That was his plan all along, to trap Monkey King inside that scroll and do something sinister, something bad, probably." Linwan looked at Azure, but saw him look away with a small sigh. "See?!" Mei pointed at him. "He's basically admitting it! And to think I modeled my brand new sword after yours! Gross!" "... Azure?" Everyone looked at Linwan when she spoke softly, the lion seeming surprised that the girl wasn't fuming or ready to fight like the others. She felt like her expression read desperately confused but she couldn't care at the moment. "... Please explain." "It wasn't my intention to deceive you, but I knew you wouldn't understand. Sometimes it's easier to ask for forgiveness, not permission." "Ooh, okay. Then I hope you won't be upset when I don't ask permission for this!" The dragon girl lunged forward with her blade aimed right at the hand the lion was using to hold the scroll. He side stepped her and opened the scroll's inky capabilities to surround him protectively as Mei jumped high in the air and dove for him. "Mei wait!" Linwan went to take a step forward but winced at the flash of light that exploded.

Wings had blocked the dragon girl's attack before a bird-like being smiled at her. "Greetings, little girl." They opened their wings, throwing her off balance and straight into a pillar. "Mei!" MK yelled in concern as Azure tried to stop the attack from his friend with a "Hold on". The others leapt into action but Sandy was forced to push Tang out of the way as a weapon slammed into the blue demon, which caused him and Pigsy to crash into the ground. "Sandy!" The young warrior went to help but her form began to flicker again, forcing her to hold onto herself in pain. That led to Sandy being held down by a large elephant and created an opening for the bird to hold Tang down while pointing their ji at Mei. "No! Please, Azure." MK spoke up but his form began flickering too, making him fall to his knees and grunt in pain. "If it isn't the Great Monk Tang Sanzang. You cannot imagine how I've longed for this moment." The bird pushed their foot down, causing Tang to cry out as cracks appeared under him. "Peng, stop! This man isn't who you think." Azure spoke to his companion, causing them to laugh and turn to him as their wings vanished. "Took you long enough, brother. I feel as though I've been trapped in that cursed thing for 1,000 years." They walked towards him and the elephant followed. "How long has it been?" "Oh, I don't know, truth be told. Yellowtusk, bring it in, old friend." As they spoke, both MK and Linwan took in their friends' conditions to make sure none of them were severely hurt before MK looked towards the lion with a hurt look in his eyes. Linwan gently held his shoulder to try and reassure him that she was there for whatever came next, but MK didn't seem to pay attention once the lion looked over. "MK, I'm sorry things got so out of hand. Let me introduce you to my brothers, The Golden Peng and Yellowtusk the Wise." He smiled at the young hero as he motioned to his two brothers. "So, this was all just some elaborate plot to break your friends out of prison or whatever that scroll is?" Tang winced as he spoke, but didn't seem to care at the moment. "But why not just tell us?!" MK sounding so confused and hurt made Linwan speak up. "We would've helped. Had you told MK and Mei, we could've taken extra time to help you too!" "He's a villain, guys. We never should have trusted him." Mei angrily spoke from where she was on the ground. "Okay, okay. An explanation. I owe you that at least. If you will allow me." He unraveled the scroll and Linwan immediately held onto MK, not wanting to lose him to the inky world within it again. This time there was no ink though. The scroll broke off into sections of bamboo and surrounded the three. At first the lion seemed confused but a flash of understanding passed over his face before he gave a small smile to the young warrior. She narrowed her eyes at him as MK looked around in a small panic, then a flash of light happened.
