Linwan woke with a start that had Macaque rubbing soothing circles into her back. He had heard her heart racing, but refused to wake her since she'd only panic. She quickly looked around then squinted her eyes as she thought something over. "You alright, kid?" She looked towards her mentor then seemed confused before she rubbed the tiredness from her eyes. "Where are we?" "Home." A small hum was the response she gave before she suddenly smiled at him. "Aw, you called it home." She looked at her phone then quickly got up. "Ten already?!" "What's wrong?" The monkey got up and followed her when she didn't respond then looked at her confused when she raided her closet. "Kid?" She paused and looked at him blankly before it seemed to click. "OH! Yeah, right. MK and I were talking yesterday." "Didn't you sleep for most of yesterday?" "Pff, I texted him when I was half awake at one point. Anyway, he said that King and him were gonna go do stuff on the mountain." "Like?" "Checking on the monkeys, making repairs to whatever, blah blah blah. All that good stuff they've been doing since coming back. Being gone for as long as everyone was, those monkeys caused a lot of problems." She found a black jacket with golden trimmings then looked at the back with a thoughtful look. "And that involves you... how?" She hummed at him. "I'm helping." "Really?" His face ended in a scowl. "Yep!" He heard her practically chirp before she found other clothes to wear with it. "If you want, you can come with." The warrior thought it over then huffed. "I'll stick to the shadows..." "You sure, dad?" He internally smiled at her calling him that, but kept to the conversation. "Yeah. Don't want those monkeys all over me. Then there's Wukong..." "You're just saying that because you know you'll crack under their cuteness. Plus, I'm sure King will enjoy your company." He snickered and shook his head. "I'll make breakfast. We all know you need it." "I'll have you know, people can go weeks without food." "I hate that you know that." "Yeah, Pigsy does too." "Something we agree on. You're still eating by the way." "Alright, alright." He walked to the kitchen, satisfied, and let her get ready.

While eating some of the food Macaque made, Linwan seemed to zone out in thought then got on her phone. "Hey, MK. I just thought of something." She kept eating as she waited for a response, which wasn't very long. "Wut" She shook her head in amusement as she thought about how curious he must've looked on his end. "You know how King teaches you and Mac teaches me?" Now there was a much longer pause before she heard her phone buzz again. "Lin stay wit me hwre wut if thy both tayght me n u" The young warrior snickered at him suddenly having the idea she had, ignoring the spelling mistakes he did in his obvious excitement, which earned a confused look from Macaque. "I'm just texting MK." "Aren't you both about to be seeing each other in a bit here?" "Yeah, but I like texting him still." She shrugged and he hummed in understanding as she went back to the conversation going on. "Great idea MK." "I kno"

Linwan and Macaque landed on the beach of Flower Fruit Mountain then shifted from birds to their normal forms. "Why'd we have to fly here?..." The monkey spoke as he dusted himself off. "I wanted to wake up a bit more before getting here" She shrugged and her mentor breathed out a laugh before looking off towards the mountain. "And that's my cue." "Cue? What do you mean?" She looked over in the same direction just in time to be tackled to the ground by a bunch of monkeys who were making all sorts of hoots and chitters. "Ack-! HELP!" The young warrior scrambled to get to her feet after a bit, but just couldn't due to the wave of monkeys tripping her up constantly. She managed to catch her breath after gently prying a monkey off of her face though. "Yes, yes, I'm here! I'm back you guys!" She held in a laugh, but a warm smile showed on her face anyway. "Lin! Are you okay?!" She looked over to see her best friend rushing to her. "I'm fine MK. You just missed me getting bulldozed by a bunch of monkeys." "Sorry. They were suddenly excited and..." He trailed off when she began nuzzling one in the stomach with her nose as another monkey gently grabbed her left ear, though she couldn't see that one well... Yet another suddenly squished her right cheek and a fourth one nibbled on her fingers. He chuckled softly at her giving these monkeys affection. "They just got so excited to see me come back, I bet. I can tell with all their chattering." "Wait, can you understand them?" He slowly helped her up, despite the monkeys making it near impossible at first. "I wish, but no. They just seem super chatty." She cleaned some of the sand out of her hair, somewhat glad when MK helped. "Now come on. We've got a mountain to climb!" Her shoulders, arms, hands, and even her hood had monkeys crowded on them but that wasn't hard to deal with. No. The part that was a bit hard to walk with was the bunch of monkeys that kept moving past her feet or climbing onto her legs.
