Somehow this one ended longer? That's fine since it just means I'll definitely have fun with the next chapter! Also, have fun with the message you make from the first letter of each chapter. Very fun doing that too!

The group was listening to the Mayor telling LBD's story from when she was "The Ivory Lady", but Macaque was glancing over at his resting student. When he had come out of his shadow earlier, everyone had wanted to tie him up as a precaution. "Go ahead, just let me grab someone else first." That had made everyone confused until he had extended his shadows and brought out a sleeping Linwan. The gentle giant was the first one to move to the monkey's side, so he was given Linwan after Macaque had taken off his caped scarf for the girl to wear for now. She didn't have a jacket right now after all. It didn't take any longer than the moment she was placed in the blue demon's arms for him to dote on her, which made the mentor think back on who he was exactly. 'Right, that's Sandy. His hot cocoa is all that kid talks about...' He waited for her to be taken to the side then sat down so they could tie him up in some rope. Such simple rope... His mind came back to the room when his student moved a bit once the pig she worked for angrily mentioned "destiny", but she immediately dozed back off after she ended up hiding the lower part of her face with his scarf. That was good enough to keep any nightmares away for now. He chanced a glance at the group and saw the scholar now grabbing the prisoner. 'Didn't he just tell the pig to put him down?' "All right, bozo. You're going to tell us how Sun Wukong stopped the Lady Bone Demon last time or-!" The scholar began, but the man cut him off. "That information won't help you now. My Lady has corrected the one mistake in her previous plan!" "Oh, right, right, right. And remind me, er, what was that mistake again?" The young hero nodded a bunch then held a hand to his chin as he spoke, which made the man tilt his head with a smile. "The mistake of extending her compassion only to the mortal realm." MK pulled out a crayon and his sketchbook as he responded. "Uh-huh. I see. And where is this "mortal realm"?" Redson jabbed the side of his head. "We're in it, you moron." The Mayor continued, which made Macaque hold in a groan. "She hadn't accounted for a celestial being to stand in her way. However, instead of Sun Wukong's swift vengeance, the Great Monk showed my Lady mercy. Until she had come to see the error of her ways, she was to remain imprisoned. Ha, the fools! Now her time has come again. The Samadhi Fire is the one thing strong enough to cleanse not only the mortal plane, but the Celestial Realm and everything beyond even that!" He laughed manically. "A fresh start. A clean slate. Just as she had planned. The mech is a weapon to channel the Samadhi Fire. Now that it is in her possession, it's only a matter of time until the final moment arrives."
"My Lady's power is too great for you to best. Your friend will surrender the Fire. My Lady's victory is assured!" That made Macaque speak up to ruin the Mayor's excitement. "She didn't look so hot last time I saw her." Everyone looked over to the monkey who just looked back at them nonchalantly, then MK leaned over to see past Sandy. "Nu-huh. You're in time-out, so you don't get to chime in. Sandy, spin him!" "Um... Sorry, Mr. Maquack." The giant picked him up by the head, turned him around so his back was to the group, then pat his head. Macaque ignored this and spoke as he was being moved. "Come on, kid. You must have seen it. She might be stronger than ever, but she's spread too thin. The mech, the crystal, and now Monkey King? I bet you anything that keeping him suppressed is using every ounce of strength she's got." "Meaning, there's-" Redson began but was cut off by an excited Sandy. "There's a vulnerability." "Ugh, I was going to say that." Pigsy chimed in this time. "Whoa ho ho. We're really going to listen to Macaque? For all we know, he's still working for her. He could be luring us into a trap." "He's not." came a girl's voice, which was followed by a small yawn and rustling fabric. Macaque quickly looked over to see Linwan, now standing, gently rubbing her right eye to wake herself up faster. Everyone called out to the girl in surprise and went to hug her but she just lifted a hand up to stop them, and he blinked a few times at how easy she made it seem. "I know this is gonna sound weird but... You have to trust him on this." "Kid, he's been hunting us this whole time. Why would he suddenly help us?" "We're close so trust me if you can't trust him." The pig sputtered at this. "But he fought you!" "It wasn't a real fight, honestly. More of a tussle. We didn't even hit one another that hard..." He went to scold her, but she ignored him as she carefully took off the scarf and put it on the monkey. "Thanks Mac." "No problem kid." "Rope huh?" "Yep." "Comfortable?" "Extremely." She chuckled and gave a satisfied nod then stretched as she got back up, walking to the young hero and standing next to him. "Now, let's continue on this vulnerability topic, yeah?" Everyone seemed to silently agree and continued despite the many questions some now had for the young warrior.
