Beside the lovely noodle shop that MK and Linwan worked at, Mei and MK were playing Monkey Mech. Sandy and Linwan had come to watch since they had just ended another couple hours of practicing the girl's speech on his boat when Mei shot her a message about hanging out that afternoon. Linwan invited Sandy, one thing led to another, and here they were... Mei kicking MK's ass at the game. "Button mash all you want, MK. You'll never beat my Ancient Galloping Fury Power." Mei spoke smugly to the bandana wearing boy before Sandy tried to, not so calmly, give him advice. "Up smash, up smash!" The boy panicked as he mashed the buttons. "I'm trying, Sandy. Okay? I'm trying. I'm trying!" This got a laugh out of Mei before she spoke again, "No one can defeat me." Unfortunately, she was interrupted by a call, which made Mei give a nervous glance when she saw it was her mother calling. "Oh boy... Hi, Mom." She walked off to have a conversation, but Linwan stopped focusing as she watched MK chuckle and mash more buttons. She stepped in to try and beat him for Mei. It was the right thing to do for the girl, seeing as she had been winning in the first place.

"Lin, you can't just turn on me like this." The boy whined as he button mashed more. He seemed to be beating her since she didn't even know what button did what for Mei. "Chea-tin' isn't... very hero-ic." She snickered at him so he knew she was joking, which just made him laugh a bit. She stopped paying attention when she heard Sandy ask Mei if she was alright. "Yeah. It's just-" She stopped to see MK had beaten her character. Linwan looked at the boy again then gave a nervous shrug to Mei as an apology. "My parents-- they want me to housesit." "And that's a bad thing?" Sandy stood a bit closer to Mei as she responded. "No. Me and my parents, we--" "Uh," MK cut in, "did Mei just say sleepover at her house?" "What?" The girl panicked a bit. "No! My parents would want--" "Sleepover!" He spoke loudly then rubbed his hands together as if he were scheming. "I've always wanted to see inside Mei's secret Dragon House full of secret dragon stuff." He rushed over to her. "Come on, please?" He quickly put on the puppy dog eyes as he continued to beg. Mei took a moment to try to fight those eyes, but ended up giving a sort of huff. "Sleepover it is." While MK cheered and spoke on what he was going to do there, Linwan gently nudged Mei and motioned to ask if she'd be fine. She got a simple nod in return, which made her frown slightly. Was it really alright?

It didn't take long for the four adults to get to Mei's home, which currently had the three guests staring at it in awe. Could they even call this thing a house? It was like a palace of sorts! The boy next to Linwan spoke up. "It's even better than I thought! Growing up here must have been great." Mei's response was less enthusiastic and more... hesitant. "Yeah, I guess but-- I don't know." She looked up at the wall next to her as she continued. "When I was growing up, I just wanted to be rough and tumble. Break stuff. Look at bugs. You know, have fun just like normal girl stuff. But when your house is pretty much a museum and you come from a long line of ancient, noble dragons," she looked down as her voice sounded more dejected, "that's kind of frowned on..." She lifted her heard and suddenly sounded cheery. "Anyway. Onwards to the definitely-not-going-to-be-terrible sleepover!" The others ran off without hearing her, but Linwan gently touched her shoulder. "You o-kay?" Mei paused as she stared at Linwan then smiled softly, receiving one in return. "Yeah, come on Li-Li." Linwan allowed herself to be led but froze upon seeing the security system aim at the two boys there. Before she could say anything, Mei had smacked her hand over MK's mouth and turned the system off. "Yeah, my parents are a bit serious about the whole security thing." The house responded with a simple "Welcome home, Mei." and the girl mumbled a small "Yeah." that no one else seemed to catch. Well, aside from Linwan. To her, Mei might as well have yelled it. Why'd a mumble hurt? She shook it off and followed everyone in.
