"Little Shade, are you sure about this?" Linwan scarfed down the rest of her congee then sighed in relief before thinking over the question. "Yeah... Yeah, I'm sure." She put the now empty bowl down on the table. "I'm tired of not sleeping and of being afraid." He frowned a bit but nodded softly. "I get it, but still... Will you be able to, you know, face it?" "Maybe not, but I have to try, right?" She gave a weak smile as if to work her confidence up. "Plus, that's why I'm telling you. If anything goes wrong... I want to be at our training mountain so there's nothing to destroy! That way it's all okay!" She played with her jacket strings as she averted her gaze. "Aha... Then... Then you can just, y-you know, stop me." He got up and grabbed her empty bowl, taking it to the sink to busy his hands. "If you're sure." "It's like you said, we've got to meditate through these feelings I've got." "Are they feelings? Or are they something more?" That made her pause before she looked at her hands. "I've got to stop being afraid of myself and what I can do. Maybe if I can sort this thing out, then I can do better and be better." He seemed to snort a bit. "When did you get so wise?" "When I got a dad that's older than dirt." He huffed as she gave him a shit eating grin. "Aw, I'm just teasing. You know I love you and all your infinite wisdom." That earned her some ruffled hair that made her whine. "That's for calling me super old." "I deserve that, I guess." That didn't mean she couldn't pout about it.

Once both of the shadow users were on the mountain, Linwan seemed to pace a bit as she hyped herself up for this step of the process. "It's meditation. We do it all the time, right? How hard can it be?" She paused then looked at Macaque. "Right?" "Uuhh... I mean maybe?" "Wow... Thanks for the vote of confidence, dad." He sighed a bit. "I'm just saying to think it all through and be careful when you're in there. We don't know what might happen." "Yeah, I know..." She rubbed her arm a bit before glancing up at the sky. "It's pretty out here today though, so maybe that'll help! You know, a calm scenery to soothe the mind. That's what Sandy says anyway." "He's right about that... So quit stalling." "I- ah, haha, hey I'm not stalling! I'm just... Thinking this through." He gave a sarcastic laugh that made her pout a bit. "Fine, maybe I am stalling a little. Just to ready myself." She sat down and glanced at the sky one more time just to let it sink in, then took a deep breath in.

The beginning of this meditation was fine. Truly it was. What wasn't fine was when her mind decided to supply her with flashes of the enemies of the past. Her face came in, obviously, but what made her flinch and open her eyes was the image of the scroll's Linwan. She had immediately jumped up out of her seated position and gotten into a fighting stance with how bad it spooked her, then looked around in a bit of a panic before pausing upon seeing Macaque staring at her with wide eyes. "A-aha... Sorry." She rubbed the back of her head. "Didn't mean to, uh, spook you." "We could stop here, you know. There's no shame in-" "No way! I... I want to do this." She slowly sat down and looked at her shaky hands before putting them on her knees. "I don't want to run from this. Not again. I have to face it eventually, and I choose to face it now while we have the chance." She put her hands together and took a soothing breath before diving back into her meditation. With her finding the main thing she wanted to focus on, she let her mind supply flashes of what she'd done in her monkey form. She kept delving into each memory; how she protected the monkeys, how she fought the scroll and the Brotherhood with it, and-
