XXII. A Good Name.

AFTER ANOTHER big wave hit, Jake had stumbled back into Rafe who fell back, landing on the floor with the Lennox on top of him. "Fuck, sorry." Jake said as he quickly got up, pulling himself up. "You're welcome, broke your fall, dude." Is all the Cameron said as Jake walks out of the little room, heading back into the kitchen where it was just Cleo and Pope. "Where is Kie?" He ask worriedly.

"Where's Sarah?" Rafe asked next. "Sarah went to go and get John B, then JJ and Kie both went after her!" Pope tells the two and then the two rushed out of the kitchen, Jake running up to the top deck where Kie was holding onto John B's shoulder, comforting him. "Where's Sarah?" He asked the two worriedly as Kie turned to him, look full of sorrow as she embraced him instantly. "What happened?" He asked but neither even answer him. "Where's JJ?" He now asked, looking all around. "JJ!" He shouted, still holding onto Kie who was now full on sobbing in his arms. "JJ!" He cried out.

Once they passed through the storm and got onto land, the group all went to sit at the sand, while John B left, insisting Jake stays and gets some rest as he goes to search for JJ and Sarah. Kie sat with Jake, holding him the entire time as they all sat around together in the sand.

Eventually, John B returned, "hey." He said and Jake instantly turned around to look at him. "I looked everywhere. I couldn't find them." He said and Kie turns to Jake who looked down right away. "I couldn't find them." John B repeated and Jake just sighs, his girlfriend instanty leaning into his side.

Later that night, they sat around a little fire that they had set up, staring at the flames and Jake had Kie in between his legs again, resting against his chest. "Maybe they just washed up further down the beach." John B spoke up suddenly as Jake is fidgeting with one of Kiara's bracelets. "We just gotta keep looking." He added. "We'll look at first light." Kie took one of Jake's hands in hers, interlocking their fingers together as she looks up at him and he just simply nodded his head.

The next day as they set up base, with whatever materials they can scrap from the boat, Jake and Kie were once again sitting the same way after they had come back from doing another search, but got tired so they came back. Kie got up suddenly so Jake instantly looked up, hopeful but then the girl lowered her hand and sat back down. "Sorry." She whispers and Jake just puts his arm around her waist. "They're gonna turn up." Pope tells the three. "They'll turn up." He says shortly after and Jake looks over at John B who was staring off in the distance, when suddenly he stood up.

Jake stood up quickly, spotting the two down the beach. "I'll go." John B tells them but Jake was quick to follow after him, running behind the boy and heard footsteps behind him, knowing that it was most likely Kie. Jake could already tell it was them, so he began running, as did John B who ran to Sarah. "JJ." Jake felt relief flow through him as he ran over to the blond who was jogging lightly over to him. He embraced him right away, holding him tightly as Kie walked over to the two, smiling.

"What happened?" Jake pulls back slightly as Kie walked up, putting her arms around JJ next who hugs back tightly. "Oh, you know... just saved Sarah. No big deal." He said and Kie steps back, hitting his shoulder. "Don't ever scare us like that again." She said and both her and Jake pull JJ into their arms, the hug lasting a bit more longer this time.

The three look over at John B and Sarah who are already looking their way. "Look, man, I was just the closest one, alright? That's it." JJ began as John B walked over and embraced him. Jake smiled at the two, glancing at Sarah who's also watching them with a smile and Kie steps closer, side hugging Jake now. "Brothers for life." John B tells JJ in their embrace.

Jake could tell that the Maybank really needed the hug, patting John B gently on his back and closing his eyes. "Come on. Let's head back to the others." John B says quietly now, pulling back from the hug. Jake walked over, grabbing JJ's hand gently, smiling softly at him as the three of them now follow after Sarah, Jake in between JJ and Kie as always, hands interlocked with his girl's and his boy's.
