AND BECAUSE he can never deny Jake, JJ quickly adds & J to the end of his note, put it underneath the windshield wiper of the Twinkie, grabbed his hand and lead the way to the dock where they got into the other boat. "Where are we going?" Jake asked, standing next to the Maybank who's driving the boat. "Barracuda Mike's." He replies. "Oh." Jake looked away from the blond and JJ sighs. "I wanna track down my father." He says and Jake knows without even having to ask that it had something to do with the letter. "Can I read it properly?" He asks and JJ doesn't even hesitate, handing it over to him.
Dear Master Maybank,
I'm writing in regards to a matter of utmost importance. I apologize for the clandestine manner of the delivery, but there are forces, both natural and supernatural, that make this secrecy necessary.
And though I would like to converse with you about this matter, I believe it best that you first talk to your father.
Ask him about Albatross.
Do not tarry. I pray that God's grace will grant me the pleasure of your company when all has come to light.
Yours truly, Wes Genrette.
Jake stared at the papers in his hands, brows furrowing together before he folded the papers back up and put them back into the envelope carefully, turning back to JJ who's just staring straight ahead. "Do you think he did something bad to Mr. Genrette?" Jake asked quietly as they now arrived to Barracuda Mike's, helping JJ by grabbing the rope for him.
He handed over the envelope as JJ jumps off the boat, onto the dock where he kneeled down quickly to tie it off. "Don't know, but I'll find out. Hold down the fort?" He asks Jake who nods, staring at him. "I'll be right here." He says and JJ just sends him a small smile, stuffing the letter into his back pocket as he heads up the dock. Jake stood there watching him before deciding to sit down, sighing.
It wasn't long after JJ had left when he heard sirens so he quickly got up to see police vehicles arrive, and JJ is running from his father, down the dock. Luke is following and Jake couldn't help the anger he feels when he sees him. "What's going on?" He asked JJ worriedly as the blond now unties the ropes to the boat. "Shoupe must've had his eye on us." The Maybank gets onto the boat as the other Maybank reached the end, looking at his son.
"Jay." Jake looks at him, as the cops are shouting after them, as all of them came running. "Come on, JJ, I'll tell you everything." The man said as Jake shook his head, looking at JJ who looks up. "Both of you, stop!" Shoupe shouts as he was running down the dock. "What are you gonna do, just stand there? Come on." JJ tells his father who turns to look at the cops who are getting closer.
Luke came running down the ramp and got onto the boat, then JJ drove off, glancing back at Shoupe and the other police officers as Jake kept his eyes on Luke, glaring at him. "Did you get any information yet?" The Lennox now asked the Maybank quietly as the other older Maybank is acting all sketchy, looking all around and fidgeting with his hands.
"No. He knew nothing about Albatross." JJ said quietly to him and Jake just sighs, looking back over at Luke. After the older of the Maybanks gave him directions of where to go, Jake kept glaring at him and God, if looks could kill, Luke would probably be dead by now. "Jay," JJ said quietly as they arrived to the dock now, his father tying off the boat. "Come on, JJ." Luke stood up and JJ grabs Jake's arm. "Hey. I'll be right back, alright?" He tells him.
Jake just nods, sort of giving him a stern stare, "better be." He says and JJ just nods. "I will." He says quietly to him then he leaned over, pressing a quick kiss to his lips before he went off the boat, following after his dad. "I thought he was with the girl." Luke pointed with his thumb, jogging a bit as they head towards the lighthouse. "Shut up, pops." JJ simply replied with, not exactly ready to dive into that conversation with Luke.
