A/n: No idea how long this has been sitting in my drafts lol. Happy reading xx

You were currently getting ready for a red carpet event with your best friend. It was an important one for you as a new movie you were in had recently come out and the fans were going crazy over it.
It was a Marvel movie, so you already expected to have a lot of attention as a result. You were featured in the newest movie that brings together the young Avengers.
You played the role of Kate Bishop's girlfriend. Your character has superpowers and joined the young Avengers as a result.
You knew to expect a lot of questions about that movie specifically, and possibly about the steamy scene you acted in with your costar Hailee Steinfeld.
You finished getting ready as you fastened your watch around your wrist. You looked in the mirror, smoothing out your suit and fixing your shirts collar.
"Ready to go?" You asked your friend as you had to leave soon. "Yep, almost. Can you help me with this?" She asks as she holds up a necklace. You take it and clasp it around her neck.
"You look gorgeous," you compliment your best friend. "Thanks. You don't look too bad yourself," she giggles, making you chuckle.
You got to the event and your friend, who was also a well-known actress, went on the red carpet first. Photographers snapping pictures of her as they shout commands.
You step onto the carpet and get a few pictures with your friend before she leaves and you get your solo pictures taken. You smile for some pictures while keeping a more natural or cold expression for the others.
"Can we get a picture of you with Hailee Steinfeld?" One of the photographers asks loudly. You only then notice that she was next in line for the carpet.
You nod your head politely and Hailee joins you. You wrap your arm around her waist, knowing what the fans would want. Ever since the movie came out, fans have been shipping you and Hailee together.
Fans thought that you had so much chemistry that rumours started circulating that you were actually dating in real life.
You nor Hailee ever addressed the rumours because it was publicity for the movie, not to mention that fans will believe what they want to believe.
Once the photographers take a few pictures, you walk away toward your friend waiting for you at the end of the carpet. You give her a look with a sarcastic grin as you walk away from Hailee.
Your friend gives you a knowing look and you both almost start laughing. You and Hailee never particularly got along, so it was amusing to see how much fans shipped you when, in reality, you didn't like each other.
You knew it was a bit rude to react the way you did, giving your friend a look and snickering as you got off the carpet, but you figured what's the harm. You didn't expect one of the photographers to capture the moment as you figured they would be focusing on Hailee.
You soon found out though, as the following day, there were new rumours spreading. Pictures of you and Hailee posing together were posted and alongside it was a picture of your expression as you walked away and snickered to your best friend.
The photos got a lot of traction as fans were shocked by the apparent relationship between you and Hailee. Your chemistry was so good on screen that they would have never thought you disliked each other. However, these pictures seemed to be pretty clear, at least about your feelings for the costar.
That same day you were bombarded with messages and emails about interviews. It seems that people became invested in what it all meant.
You took some time to think about it but eventually agreed to do an exclusive interview with a popular interviewer. You were interested in what people thought of the situation and what they would ask you.
---
You were ready as the interview was about to begin. The interviewer asked some questions about your career, no doubt building up to the more juicy ones.
"Okay, I just have to ask. There have been some pictures floating about from a recent red carpet. It seems that you and Hailee may not have the relationship that fans assumed. Could you confirm where you stand with your costar Hailee Steinfeld?" He asks.
"Oh I saw this coming." You chuckle. "Well, it's complicated. Fans of our on-screen relationship seem to ship us together in real life now because of our chemistry on screen. But the truth is we're actors, we're supposed to look like we have chemistry, that's our job. Actors in general will not always get to work with people that they like or get along with." You say.
"Don't get me wrong, there's no hostility between Hailee and I. I respect her and her work. She really is a talented actress and musician. But the truth is we just don't click. Our personalities don't align and that's okay." You finish.
"Well, there you go, we got the inside scoop on the relationship of Hailee and Y/n," the interviewer says as he looks to the camera.
"I'm intrigued now." He says. "What was it like filming the more... intimate and relationship scenes given you weren't particularly fond of each other?" He asks.
"As I mentioned before, it's all just a part of acting. For me personally, when I film, I get lost in the role, usually completely disconnecting from my own self and my feelings as I try to put myself in the shoes of my character. Everyone has different perspectives on the more steamy scenes in general, but this was mostly just heavy implications of what was happening, so it wasn't particularly hard to put feelings aside and just film it." You say.
"I just want to reiterate one more time. I do not hate Hailee Steinfeld. You're not always going to get along with everyone and that's okay. I'd like to just say that I'd appreciate it and I'm sure Hailee would too if we didn't get any angry messages about 'how could you' and 'you're such a fake bitch', yes those are messages I've received. And for those people who are offended that me and Hailee are not in love and conforming to their fantasies, I have a message for you. Grow up and get over it." You say flatly.
