Storm night|Cat Grant*

You were still working on your current project when Catco employees all around you slowly started dissipating.

The weather outside was horrible, rain was lashing down and the wind was getting increasingly hectic.

There was a storm coming which was why most people were leaving work early as travelling later in the day would become more dangerous.

You lived close by so you weren't too concerned yet, you could handle a little rough weather on your way home.

As you continued working away until 3 pm you received some weather alert notifications and cancellation of public transport services after 4 pm due to unsafe conditions.

You glanced up from your computer, no sign of anyone still being at the office, except for of course Ms Grant herself.

You usually worked in your own office a few offices away from Cat, but were currently working in the bullpen as your office was being renovated.

Normally you would stop working at 5 pm, but you often stayed longer to get some extra work done before going home.

Today you considered leaving early due to the bad weather conditions. But you also didn't want to leave Cat alone in the building as seemingly everyone else including her assistant had left.

Cat was working away on her laptop when you gently knocked on her open office door. She looked up, meeting your gaze and for a second you thought she was going to give out to you for interrupting but instead she just waited for you to talk.

"Hey, Ms Grant. I just wanted to check if you plan on heading home soon. The storm is getting worse and it's going to be unsafe to travel soon." You told her.

There was a shelter-in-place warning from about 4.30 pm as wind speeds were predicted to reach dangerous levels, risking flying debris and potentially structural danger.

This meant you really had to leave the office within the next half an hour or so to get home before the really bad conditions.

"I'm not going anywhere. I have work to do." Cat says in her usual authoritative tone. "Don't you think an exception can be made this onece." You said as you leaned against her door.

"Everyone else has gone home. It's just us left." You add. Cat half scoffs half chuckles. "Catco does not bow to weather," Cat says, which almost makes you giggle, tho given the situation it wasn't very amusing.

You worked with Cat for years and over time you grew very fond of her, you couldn't bear the thought of her travelling home at her usual time, especially with the shelter-in-place order.

"Yes which is very cute, but this is a dangerous situation Cat." You say, using her first name to reiterate how serious you are about this.

You know that Cat has a soft spot for you so you hoped she wouldn't get too upset by your meddling in her business.

"I'm aware of the outside situation given that my building is empty." Cat says, meaning all the employees that have left early, which she authorised as she wasn't going to force people to stay in these conditions.

"But I intend to keep working. You should go home Y/n." Cat says like it's an order. It was her choice to stay that didn't mean you had to stay and endanger yourself.

Tho deep down Cat hoped that you wouldn't leave her alone. She wouldn't admit it but she hated storms and didn’t want to be home alone for it, which was why she was adamant to stay at the office and do some work.

"I'm not going to leave you here by yourself." You announced simply. "If you're not going home, neither am I."

"Y/n. I'm serious." Cat says, giving you one of her stern looks. "So am I." You don't give in to her request and you wouldn't no matter how many times she asks you to leave while there's time.
