Fuck You|Katie McGrath

It was the middle of the school year and students were busy with assignments and projects for their various classes.

Katie just spent the last week in almost a panic mode because she was working on a project with Y/n and Tyler. Two popular kids at their school, both on the basketball team.

She was panicked because she was the complete opposite of them, quiet, shy and definitely not popular at school. She didn't get bullied or anything, she was just not that well known outside of her classes.

She didn't really like the popular crowd, they seemed loud and annoying. When the project first started Katie expected to have to do all the work alone and was surprised when Y/n offered really good ideas and they both contributed plenty to the project.

They weren't exactly all friendly with each other, more just cordial, working together so they can get this project done and move on with their lives.

But during this week Katie started to like Y/n a little more. She always thought she was attractive, but now she saw there might be more to her than it appears.

She was smart and sometimes unintentionally hilarious, making Katie crack a smile more than once during the hours they put into their work.

They were at Katie's house wrapping up the project when Tyler needed to leave a little early. They let him go as it was just finishing touches being added.

Y/n and Katie finished the project and tidied up after themselves. Y/n was ready to leave, having already said goodbye and was halfway out the door, "wait-"

Y/n turned around thinking maybe she had forgotten something. "Do you uhm- maybe want to get dinner with me sometime?" Katie asked before panicking and quickly adding "not like dinner dinner but- it's whatever. You can say no." She rambles.

Y/n smiles softly. "I'd love to get dinner with you," Y/n says happily. "Cool, I'll text you," Katie says with a panicky smile before shutting the door almost in Y/ns face.

Y/n chuckled softly as she walked to her car. She figured that must have taken a lot for her to say that and it was a little cute how much she panicked.

They texted later that night and set up a date in 2 days, on Friday night.

As it got closer to their date, Katie started overthinking it. After telling her friends about it, they advised her not to get her hopes up in case Y/n was messing with her.

This really dampened her mood as she realised that it really could be just some sick joke Y/n was playing on her. Just because she wasn't mean during their class project didn't mean she wouldn't do something so horrible.

So as time ticked by and Friday night approached Katie came to the decision not to make a fool of herself by getting stood up and didn't show up at the restaurant they had planned to meet at.

Y/n however got ready for the date as she had no reason to doubt that Katie would show up. Katie was smart and kind, even if a little quiet, yet Y/n always had a little crush on her.

She was actually happy when Katie asked her out because she never would have had the guts to do it herself. She didn't think that Katie was a big fan of her or her group of friends.

Y/n showed up at the restaurant 5 minutes early and got their reserved table since they agreed to meet inside the restaurant and ordered drinks for them both.

Five minutes ticked by, and then ten and then 15 as Y/n kept glancing at her watch. She pulled out her phone and sent Katie a quick text, asking if she had been delayed.
