"Brother!" Zeus, God of the Sky, shouted at Poseidon, God of the Sea, with a thunderous voice as he lifted him up and off of the ground with a tight grip around his throat.
"How could you be so foolish? You have awoken Cronus from his slumber. He now roams the Earth and is headed to Olympus to kill us all!" Zeus continued shouting, spitting on his brother in the process. Poseidon twisted his brother's wrist before shoving him back.
"You and I both know I wouldn't have done so if you had just let me see her!" Poseidon clapped back, wiping the spit off of his face. By this point, the rest of the Olympians made it into the throne room of Olympus to see what all of the commotion was. Hera, Goddess of Women, Marriage, and Childbirth, wife of Zeus, and sister of him and Poseidon, got in between the two to keep them from attempting to kill one another.
"What has gotten into the two of you? Zeus, my love, what is it?" Hera asked, reaching her hand up to caress Zeus's cheek, hoping the small act would calm him down. Poseidon looked to his brother with pleading eyes, begging that he not tell the rest of the Olympians that he was the reason for Cronus rising.
"Cronus has risen. We are all in grave danger." Zeus informs the other Olympians. Whispers filled the room. Some were confused, some in disbelief, and some were petrified.
"This is grave. Grave indeed." Hera replied.
"We left him in the mortal world. There is no guarantee that he even remembers where the entrance to Olympus is, Zeus." Demeter, Goddess of Grain and Agriculture said.
"While that may be so, sister, we're still in danger," Hera said, now resting on the arm of Zeus. Zeus and Poseidon stood there in silence, one trying to think up a plan, the other already knowing what to do.
"Olympians! Silence!" Zeus roared, his voice echoing in the room as everyone went silent. Not one dared to make any noise, not even breathe too loudly.
"We Olympians cannot return to Earth. You know our rules." Zeus begins, glaring at his brother Poseidon who had disobeyed those rules one too many times.
"It is time, Hades," Zeus says. A portal from the Underworld then formed in front of Hades, God of the Underworld, throne. Darkness filled the room as Hades made his way through the portal. Not once did he bat an eye at the other Olympians. Not even his other brothers and sisters whom he hadn't seen in so long. He headed straight for where Zeus stood and took his place beside him. The Olympians were shocked to see Hades, considering Hades hadn't been allowed back to Olympus for centuries.
"Hades and I struck a deal over 17 years ago that our children would fight the battles for us on Earth that we cannot." Zeus said. More whispers went around the room. All were confused, but none more so than Athena , Goddess of Wisdom and War.
"But Father, you know we cannot go to Earth." Athena said, approaching Zeus. Zeus stayed silent for a moment before revealing a secret he kept amongst only a few others.
"Not you Athena, Half-bloods," Zeus said. Athena then knew what her father meant, and held her head down. She realized she hadn't been included in that decision. She however shook her head. She wouldn't argue about it.
"No Zeus, I will not have you bring my child into this!" Poseidon shouted, the blue in his eyes turning a deep, dark shade. Zeus chose to disregard what Poseidon said and continued to speak.
"Athena, Hades, Demeter, Poseidon, and I, have mortal children who will be fighting this battle for us," Zeus announced. Olympians began shouting, outraged and in complete disbelief that Zeus would put their lives in the hands of mortal children. Hera shook her head upon hearing this, backing away from her husband.
