"Okay! Okay! Please, Noelle! I take everything I said back, just please-" Zander said, but was cut off by Noelle shoving his head back into the water.
"Please! I do not like water!" Zander said, managing to get his head above the water.
"Only if you promise to stop making the comments you've been making." Noelle said, turning her back to face him better. She sat with her knees on either side of Zanders' back placed on the counter of the sink in the bathroom of the boy's hotel room, pinning him down and keeping him from getting up. Heath watched, amused by what was happening before him. Donovan sat on his bed reading his book. And Amara had already left for the girl's room to shower.
"Well, now hold up-," Zander said, protesting, but Noelle shoved his head back into the water for a few seconds before pulling it back up.
"Wait! You don't even know what I was going to say!" Zander exclaimed. Noelle waited for him to say whatever it was he needed to say. He brought his hand up to wipe the water from his eyes so his vision wouldn't be so blurry.
"When you think about it, I haven't really made that many comments." Zander claimed.
"Really?" Noelle asked, knowing he had.
"I mean, yeah! So, how about this? Just 3 more-" Zander said, but Noelle had heard enough. She shoved his head back into the water and turned back to see what Donovan and Heath were doing. When she saw Heath's eyes on her, heat rushed to her cheeks and she quickly turned away. Zander pushed himself upwards to get his head out of the water, almost making Noelle fall. Heath stood up and walked closer to the bathroom so he could assist her if she did fall.
"I'll stop!" Zander shouted.
"Give me your word." Noelle said sternly.
"What?" Zander asked.
"Give me your word that you won't say anything like that again." Noelle said. Zander groaned.
"I give you my word." Zander said. And with that, Noelle hopped off of his back and landed on the floor, stumbling a little. Heath held his arms out to help steady her. He surely thought when one of his hands found her waist she would shove him away, but she didn't. She placed her hand on his forearm to further help her. She then looked up to him, looking into his icy blue eyes.
Thanks.
Noelle said in her mind. Heath gave her a smile, one that warmed her heart.
Anytime.
Heath said, before walking back over to the bed he shared with Zander. After Zander wiped all of the water off of his face with a towel, he walked over to the bed and sat, feeling tired.
"I surely need rest after all of that." Zander said, gesturing to the sink.
"You should too Noelle, you look tired." Zander said.
"Thanks." Noelle sarcastically said, feeling slightly offended by what Zander said.
"You, stay on your side of the bed. You're as cold as death." Zander said, shoving Heath back with his pointer finger.
"You can share with me, Zander." Donovan said from across the room.
"If I get cold in the night, I'll get in your bed." Zander stated. He then looked over to see Noelle still standing there.
"Or... I can share with you and Noelle can-" Zander said, but stopped when he felt Heath's cold skeleton hands in his shirt. He shrieked and jumped out of bed. Zander turned to see Heath's bony hand waving at him. Noelle laughed but stopped immediately when all eyes landed on her, curious as to what unusual noise emitted from her mouth. Noelle left unannounced and walked back to her and Amaras' shared room. She went straight for her bed and pulled her map out of the pocket of her jacket. She sat crisscrossed in the middle of the bed and began looking for possible locations to go to. Amara then walked out of the bathroom with a towel in her hair, drying it.
