Noelle felt a sense of familiarity before she even opened her eyes. A cold breeze ran through the room, but she could feel heat radiating behind her. She slowly peeled her eyes open at her new location. The moment she spotted the piece of furniture in front of her, she knew she was inside her and Heath's shared bedroom in the Underworld. Noelle couldn't remember death the first time. She couldn't remember the green, murky color of the world and how dull everything looked. Her eyes drifted around the room before landing on the bed sitting in front of her. She frowned as voices flooded the room and all of a sudden, she and Heath were sat on the bed. Noelle watched as a version of herself gasped for air, tears spilling from her eyes as Heath comforted her. Cerberus sat up in the bed, instantly alert at the sound of Noelle's sobbing. He slowly made his way over and laid one of his heads across her thigh. Noelle slowly inched closer to the bed, sitting at the end of it as she took in the scene in front of her.
"Shh, shh! I know! It's okay!" Heath said as he petted Noelle's hair as she continued to sob loudly into his shoulder. After a few minutes, Noelle finally calmed down, only letting out sniffles every now and then.
"What was the dream about this time?" Heath asked as he rested his chin atop her head. Noelle's lips slightly parted as she realized what was happening. A memory of hers played out in front of her. Noelle sniffled as she pulled away, wiping the tears from her cheeks. She went to tear at her nails when Heath took both hands in his, staring at her intently.
"I-I can't remember. Why can't I ever remember?" Noelle exclaimed as she dropped her head. Heath lowered his head slightly, trying to find her eyes.
"Hey, keep your hopes up, baby. It won't always be like this." Heath said.
"How do you know that?" Noelle asked, sounding hopeless.
"I don't." Heath admitted. Noelle stared at him for a moment before shaking her head tiredly.
"Come on, it's morning and we promised we'd help set things up for Donovan and Ares' wedding." Noelle said as she went to throw the covers off of her. The image in front of Noelle disappeared, making her stand up from the bed. She took one last glance around the room before heading out. She walked down all of the halls and all of the stairs of Hades palace and to the throne room. She looked around, finding nobody there. Her eyes landed on the large window sitting behind the thrones in the throne room. The sky was lit up a deep purple shade, indicating it was nighttime. Her head turned at the sound of footsteps. She found Thanatos walking towards her with a worried expression.
"Where were you? Did you just arrive here?" Thanatos asked, quickly grabbing her arm. She frowned and shoved his hand off of her.
"What do you mean where was I? Yes, I just arrived. I haven't been anywhere else but here." Noelle responded. Thanatos frowned down at her.
"You were supposed to arrive with me." Thanatos said. Noelle scoffed.
"Well, I can't control that." Noelle said as she crossed her arms.
"I know you can't. So, I'm wondering where what room you arrived in." Thanatos asked. Noelle stared at him blankly before her eyes drifted off.
"Noelle?" Thanatos asked, trying to meet her eyes.
"I arrived in Heath and I's bedroom." Noelle said. Thanatos's eyes widened. Just then, footsteps were heard once more, running in their direction. They turned to the right of the doorway leading to the stairs, waiting for whoever it was to make themselves known. Heath then appeared in front of the doorway. Noelle quickly ran over to him, taking his hands in her own while Thanatos stood there speechless and lost in thought.
"What the hell are you doing here?! Did Hypnos do something to you?!" Noelle asked, sounding frantic.
"No! Hypnos did nothing. I don't really know what happened. I just felt this pain in my chest and I guess I passed out." Heath said.
