"I told you! You have to be more quiet, Aphrodite!" Ares whisper-yelled at her as the group walked down one of the many long hallways of Hades' palace. She turned back and glared at him only for a moment before continuing down the hall. She couldn't help it. The choice of shoes Noelle was seen last wearing were on her feet and they weren't quiet at all, resulting in Aphrodite just kicking them off. Aphrodite was at the head of the team, walking in front of them. She peeked around each corner just in case that happened to be where Thanatos and Hypnos resided. Eventually, they came around a corner and found Thanatos and Hypnos walking down the hall together, bickering back and forth. Aphrodite waved the group off, making them all turn down another hallway to keep them safe.
"Where else could she have gone, Hypnos? The meadows? Mount Ida? Kommos?!" Thanatos asked frantically as he and Hypnos strode down the hall, seeming to be in a rush.
"How would I know? She's your future bride, perhaps you should have learned more about where she travels from time to time." Hypnos scolded his brother.
"She's only been here for 6 months, and I've hardly spoken to her before!" Thanatos responded, making Hypnos turn to him.
"Again, she's your future bride! Perhaps you also should've communicated with her a little more before deciding to take her entire life away from her!" Hypnos exclaimed.
"The Gods of Olympus marry their daughters off the day they become of age, some even before they become of age." Thanatos reminded him. Hypnos then stopped, making Thanatos stop.
"And this is no different than that. You are no better than them." Hypnos said, pushing his index finger into his brother's face.
"Thank you for expressing your feelings so fully, brother." Thanatos gritted through his teeth. "You are disgusted by me. You compare me to the other vile creatures in Olympus. The Gods who kidnap young Goddesses, commit adultery, give heinous punishments to those undeserving of it, and are just plain foul." Thanatos continued.
"This is plain foul! Not only to this girl we have practically abducted but to-" Hypnos said but stopped himself. He held his fist up, trying to hold himself back from punching Thanatos due to his anger. He screamed out in frustration after a moment, turning away from Thanatos. Thanatos entered the mind of Hypnos, trying to find an explanation for his outburst, to find the real reason he was upset. Once he found it, he stifled a laugh.
"Really, brother?" Thanatos asked.
"I won't hear it, Thanatos." Hypnos said.
"Well, you get to. I am no different than when we were young. I am still the same old me. And I am still your brother!" Thanatos exclaimed.
"Really?! Because I don't think so anymore! Gods, we used to be like this." Hypnos said, crossing his index and middle finger together to emphasize what he was saying.
"But, after you found out you were a reject of those same disgusting Gods you described earlier, you resented me for it when you should've resented them! I did nothing! We did nothing! They were the problem. But, now you are the problem, brother. I hardly even recognize you anymore." Hypnos said, swallowing harshly at the confession he had just made. Thanatos shook his head, a small smirk tugging on his lips.
"My Gods. If I had known you'd turned into such a human these past few centuries, I wouldn't have even asked for your help." Thanatos said mockingly. Hypnos narrowed his eyes at his brother, approaching him and staring him down. He was about to strike when he heard a giggle, making both him and Thanatos turn to find Aphrodite disguised as Noelle. Thanatos and Hypnos gave each other a look, unsure of what to think. Thanatos recognized the girly, innocent smile on Noelle's clone. He then decided this was the Noelle he was familiar with, not the enemy he hadn't quite gotten rid of yet.
