"If you shove me ahead of you one more time, I will send sun rays straight up your ass!" Helios complained as Amara kicked him forward for possibly the hundredth time on their journey. Amara huffed, kicking him once more.
"I would annihilate your ass without even trying!" Amara exclaimed. Helios rolled his eyes at her play on words.
"Where the hell are we?" Helios asked.
"We have wandered off into the Underworld, I guess." Amara said, kicking him again. Helios was about to turn back and follow through with what he said when he heard commotion. He quickly pushed Amara behind a rock, making her complain.
"What are you-" Amara started, but Helios covered her mouth.
"One odd thing about the mind realm is that you can hear what goes on outside of it." Helios whispered.
"You mean in the real world?" Amara asked, making Helios nod in response. Amara then frowned.
"Wait, I recognize this place. We're In Tartarus right now. We're at the very edge of it where the forest is at." Amara said. "Last I recall, the forest isn't where any God or Goddess is chained up. Supposedly, Zeus thinks it's too 'luxurious' for his prisoners." Amara continued, lightly mocking Zeus for his choices.
"If I shine some light, we can see into the real world and see who's making all that noise." Helios spoke. Amara nodded his head as he held his hand, a beam of sunlight shining all over the forest. A groan caught their attention, making them turn to their right to see a Goddess holding her arm out to shield herself from the light.
"Oops, I forgot. It can blind others for a few minutes." Helios said as he quickly let his hand down, getting rid of the light on the Goddess. The Goddess sighed.
"Great, and this was my only opportunity to leave. Now I can't see a thing!" Melinoe spoke as she lowered her arm.
"Wait, Melinoe, leave? What do you mean you're leaving?" Amara asked. Melinoe sighed.
"Look, it's better that I don't tell you. I'd be putting you in danger." Melinoe said.
"When has that ever stopped you before?" Helios asked, reminding her of their time together as a team. He got to know her pretty well, he'd say. And it definitely wasn't like her to care about others. Melinoe rolled her eyes at him as she made an attempt to walk past the two.
"Since I've had the displeasure of meeting your latest enemy." Melinoe spoke as she blinked, her vision coming back well enough for her to continue. She then made an attempt to push past the both of them.
"You know who we're up against?" Amara asked.
"Yes, now that's all I can say." Melinoe said as she continued to walk. Amara ran towards her, turning her around to face her.
"Melinoe, if you have something that can help us, I suggest you tell me what it is now." Amara said in a stern voice. Melinoe crossed her arms in front of her chest and quirked a brow at her.
"My enemy doesn't have to find out about it." Amara said. Melinoe looked around the forest frantically before snapping her fingers. Helios frowned as he realized he couldn't hear.
"Damn witch." Helios grumbled.
"If either of them finds out that I helped you, I'll receive a punishment worse than death. You don't know who you're dealing with here." Melinoe said, her voice sounding grave.
"Tell me so I know." Amara begged.
"That's the thing, Amara. I physically can't. One of your enemies can twist your mind and use you to do something you don't want to do. I physically cannot say their name because they are keeping me from doing so. The minds of Gods and Goddesses' are strong. It's really difficult reading someone else's thoughts because of how fortified all Gods and Goddesses' minds already are. Those that are unreadable like Poseidon's are that way because mentally they are stronger." Melinoe spoke.
