The loud cry of pain and agony put Zander and Amara to a halt when walking down the hallway of Poseidon's palace. They turned to see Donovan on the floor, hand clutching his chest as he breathed heavily.
"Are you alright, man?" Zander asked.
"Something.. something is wrong. I-I feel like I'm dying." Donovan explained. With that, Zander quickly lifted his friend over his shoulder and the three began down the hall once more, this time searching for help instead of Heath. The sound of another crying out called them in that direction. They quickly ran down the main set of stairs and into Poseidon's lounge room. Demeter hunched over on the ground, clutching onto her chest as well.
"Oh, stop it, Demeter! You've always been one for the dramatics!" Hades called her out.
"And please! You're salivating on my finest carpet!" Poseidon exclaimed, becoming stressed as he watched excessive amounts of drool drip from out of her mouth.
"Would you two stop it?! I think there's actually something troubling her." Hestia said as she rubbed the back of Demeter comfortingly.
"It's not just you, mother." Persephone breathed out with her hand placed over her chest, making Hades instantly go to her side.
"It's us too." Persephone said, looking up at Zander, Amara, and Donovan. They all then turned to see the three had entered the room. Hestia now stood and approached Donovan, running the back of her hand along his cheek.
"Set him down on the couch." Hestia commanded. Zander did as he was told and set him down carefully.
"I'm confused, why is this happening to them?" Amara asked.
"I believe it has something to do with their connection to the Earth." Athena said, seriousness lacing her voice. They all realized then something had happened with Mother Gaia. None knew what exactly, but that it wasn't any good.
"Who would ever mean harm to Mother Gaia?" Zander asked. Athena shook her head.
"I'm not sure, but it must be what's affecting them now." Athena said.
"Wait, but Donovan is immune. No matter what is happening to Mother Gaia, Donovan shouldn't be affected by it because of his immunity." Amara said. Demeter groaned, looking up to glare at Amara.
"When you think about it, child, none of us should be able to feel pain." Demeter grunted, rolling over to her back.
"No, no! She's sweating! Quick, somebody put her outside!" Poseidon cried out.
"Be serious, brother!" Hestia shouted at him, a look of disbelief at her brother's insensitivity plastered on her face.
"I am! That carpet was made with some of the finest fabrics in all of Olympus and she is ruining it!" Poseidon said, making Hestia roll her eyes remembering all of her brothers have always been quite insensitive.
"What do we do? How do we get them better again?" Amara asked, approaching Hestia. Hestia turned to both Zander and Amara, a serious expression on her face.
"Go find Artemis, she'll know what this is. She resides in the forests on Earth in Greece. She shouldn't feel as ill as the rest do here. Whatever is happening here is the same there, only significantly less." Hestia said. Athena narrowed her eyes at her Aunt, disapproving that the two work together. She usually didn't mind when there was at least another around, but with just the two of them, it infuriated her. She'll never forget when Hermes accidentally let it slip when she was around that Zander and Amara had kissed in Nova Scotia. She contemplated baring Amara's bedroom doors shut. Zander and Amara had reached the end of the hallway when they were stopped by two individuals coming around the corner.
