"Want to explain why the hell we're on Earth?" Zander asked as he looked around. They were currently in the woods of a currently unfamiliar place, climbing out of Hermes chariot.
"We're keeping Noelle away from Thanatos and Hypnos." Heath replied.
"Is that what I think it is?" Amara asked before running out of the woods.
"Wait, 'Mara!" Zander exclaimed as he followed after. Hermes tore Helios's chains off, slightly shocking Helios, before pulling him out of the chariot and flying them in the direction Amara and Zander headed to. Heath sighed.
"Guess we should follow after them." Heath said as he looked down at Noelle, who was sound asleep in his arms. He flipped her over onto his shoulder but not before taking his robe off and throwing it over her. The dress Amara had chosen for her was much too short when she was over his shoulder. He wanted to make sure she was completely covered. He then headed in their direction, finally reaching them. The group was met with the sight of a busy New York City. The familiar sounds of cars honking and people shouting at one another in the streets filled their ears.
"Sounds no different than it does in Olympus; loud and annoying." Helios commented. He then frowned as a strange scent came to his nose, gaining his attention. "What's that?" Helios asked, pointing at a cart with food on it.
"Those would be hotdogs." Zander replied. Helios frowned at the weird name. He then walked over and grabbed one, taking a bite out of it. The man at the stand, who was previously occupied by another customer, turned to find Helios eating one of his hotdogs.
"Hey!" The man called out angrily. Helios quirked a brow at him as he took another bite. Zander then appeared at his side.
"You're supposed to pay for that." Zander said making Helios scoff.
"I'm a God, I pay for nothing." Helios replied with a laugh following afterward.
"Oh, you think you're too good to pay, buddy?" The man shouted in disbelief. Helios was about to reach forward and lay his hands on the human, whom he believed to be below him when Heath approached them and slapped a five-dollar bill down on the man's cart.
"Here. Now it's been paid for." Heath said. The man kept an angry scowl on his face until his eyes drifted up to Noelle who was still tossed over his shoulder. The man gave Heath a look, making Heath panic inside.
"Long night of partying. She's wasted." Heath lied as he pulled the robe further down to keep the man from seeing any part of Noelle. He then walked away, the group following after them. The group then noticed the stares on them as they walked on the sidewalks.
"Okay, not only do you have a girl thrown over your shoulder, but we're all chitons and other outdated Greek clothing. They must think we're strange." Hermes examined.
"Not all of us." Amara replied as she patted on her jeans.
"Yeah, because you choose not to follow the rules." Helios retorted. Amara turned and glared at him.
"I know where we can go, come on." Heath said as he picked up the pace, the group soon doing the same.
"Oh, oh! I know where we're at." Hermes exclaimed as the familiar apartment buildings came into sight.
"Woah, I don't think I've been to your place since I was a kid!" Amara exclaimed as they entered the building, receiving a few looks as they entered the lobby. Hermes ran over to the service desk, dipping his hand into the bowl of peppermints, and pulling out a few. He went to join the group now standing outside of the elevator, but stopped himself and went back.
"I'm just gonna-" Hermes said as he grabbed the bowl and poured its contents into his pocket. "Thanks." Hermes said before quickly running over to the others, finding them all struggling to fit into the elevator.
