Noelle stared with a blank face in front of the mirror in her bedroom back at Poseidon's palace which would soon belong to Thanatos. A tear dripped down her cheek as it set in what she was about to do. Here she was, with her hair tied back and a traditional Greek wedding dress on her body. A figure from behind her made their presence known by appearing in the mirror.
"I get that you're supposed to be watching over me and all, but is it necessary to stand so close? You were fine where you were before." Noelle said sounding a little bitter. She turned back to the direction of the chair sitting in the corner where Medusa previously sat to watch over her and make sure she didn't do anything she wasn't supposed to.
"Do I disgust you?" Medusa asked after a moment, stepping away as Noelle had wished for her to do. Noelle knew little of Medusa's story and about her, but one thing she certainly knew is after Athena placed the unrighteous curse on her, Medusa was insecure about herself since people made her believe she was a monster. Her pale fingers brushed over the edge of the wrap she currently had around her head to hide away her snakes.
"No, you don't. But, considering you attempted to put my friends and me to sleep, I'm a little wary of you." Noelle replied as she smoothed out her dress and made her way over to her bed to sit. She stared blankly at something, lost deep in her thoughts. Medusa's figure in front of her soon gained her attention. Noelle looked up at her, finding a solemn expression on her face. Soft hisses filled the room, but other than that it was silent.
"Do you know why I formed an alliance with Aphrodite and the others?" Medusa asked. Noelle stared up at her for a moment before sighing.
"I'd like to think it has to do with the curse Athena placed on you. And I assume you're back for the same reason. To finish what you all started." Noelle said. Medusa stayed silent and began to take a walk around the room. Noelle bit down on her tongue. She had something to say but figured it'd just get her into trouble. But the urge filling up inside of her became too difficult to ignore.
"I get why you did it. My father did something disgusting. Something so unforgivable, that quite frankly makes me ashamed to have had a father like that. And you got punished for it when it wasn't your fault. You wanted revenge and you knew that we would put a stop to it, so you tried to put a stop to us too. You and I are similar. We both believe that those in charge can do better. That the Gods and Goddesses in Olympus are stuck in their old ways and that there needs to be a change. I am so terribly sorry that you were treated so terribly, so inhumanely by those around you. And that you are now driven by hatred. And I can't entirely say I blame you." Noelle said as she leaned back into her pillow. Medusa waited for a moment to see if Noelle had anything to add on. When she didn't, she hummed in amusement.
"No reprimanding for what I've done?" Medusa asked.
"I don't agree with how it was handled, but as I said I don't blame you. I'd have only hoped your time away would change your perspective, but considering you're here I guess it didn't." Noelle said. After a moment, Medusa scoffed.
"I am no villain, Noelle. They don't exist in our world. Some are pushed to do things they never thought they'd do. They are made into monsters by the Olympians who laugh and brag at their foolish parties about how they commit those unforgivable acts much like your father's. But, I am also not a hero. Some Gods are made up of good parts, and some are made up of bad. And the same goes for mortals. But, there is no hero and there is no villain in life. There are just people. And some are capable of changing the world for great things." Medusa said as she sat down at the edge beside Noelle's feet.
"I am not talking about the Gods and Goddesses that reside within Olympus," Medusa said as she shook her head. "I am talking about the Demigods who have proved time and time again that they can change the world." Medusa continued before standing up from Noelle's bed and holding a hand out to her.
