"That doesn't necessarily mean something more, Zander!" Ares said as he ran up the steps to Olympus, following behind both Zander and Amara who were in a rush to enter Zeus's palace. Upon hearing the word 'death', it got Amara's mind working. It got her wondering if something or someone else was at play here. Zander knew exactly what Amara was thinking.

"You don't know that, Ares." Zander said as he burst through the doors of his home. Ares quickly made his way in front of the two, keeping them from going any further.

"You're right, Zan. I don't know that. But, Gaia quite literally died! At least the human form of her did! That's a good enough explanation as to why Artemis sensed death. Let's not waste our time on it." Ares begged.

"You weren't there when Donovan fell ill, Ares. Do you know what he told us?" Amara asked. Ares only shook his head.

"He said he felt like he was dying." Zander explained, making Ares groan.

"He says the same thing when he's in the meadows for too long and gets allergies from all of the pollen!" Ares exclaimed.

"Okay, well Demeter was rolling around on the floor." Amara countered back.

"Demeter is insanely dramatic! I would know, she's my mother-in-law!" Ares exclaimed. The sound of dragging caught their attention, making them all turn to the palace doors to see Hermes dragging Helios who was wrapped tightly in chains from the neck down.

"What the hell is all of that for?" Ares asked, a little in disbelief at what he was seeing. Hermes dropped the chains and rested his hands on his knees, trying to catch his breath, feeling exhausted from dragging him up the steps.

"That is no way to get air, Hermes. Arms above your head." Amara demanded, resulting in him doing so.

"Helios- could be in danger- with whatever this poison is- Gaia got a hold of. I am- making sure- Helios is by my side- at all times- and doesn't get injected." Hermes panted, taking a moment to breathe in between a few words.

"Aww, you trying to keep your husband safe?" Amara teased, making him narrow his eyes at her.

"I'm trying to make sure- he stays alive to serve his sentence." Hermes breathed out, making Helios roll his eyes.

"I miss the cuffs." Helios commented. Just then, the group heard voices in the throne room, making them head that way. They were greeted by the sight of the committee sitting around, arguing back and forth.

"Would it kill you to show a little compassion for me?! Your brother?!" Poseidon shouted from his seat.

"I'll show compassion when you give me a good enough reason to, Poseidon! You hardly knew her!" Zeus countered back.

"I'd like to remind you that it is partially your fault because you kept me from seeing her for nearly the first 18 years of her life!" Poseidon said, approaching Zeus, and challenging him. Zeus then stood, getting in the face of Poseidon.

"You never let me forget it, brother! And I truly do not know why you won't. I am more family than she is!" Zeus shouted.

"How is it that after all this time, you are still stuck in your own ways and can't accept the fact that the five of us are not your only family and vice versa?! Times have changed, you've fucked whomever you please all along the globe and potentially have hundreds of children residing here in Olympus that should be just as much your family as we are!" Poseidon shouted.

"Except, they aren't, brother! I do not care about them! I do not care about any of them! Not one of my nieces or nephews, not one of my grandchildren, and not one of my actual children! I only care about my siblings and you have failed to see that since the beginning of time!" Zeus replied. Athena, Apollo, and Hephaestus suddenly wished they weren't around to hear that. Hermes and Ares lowered their heads from a distance at the confession that wasn't news to them but still hurt to hear. Zander patted his brothers on the back. He hadn't been affected by the news. It also wasn't news to him. But he truly could care less about how his father felt about him. Because he felt the exact same way right back at him.
