"Tell me more about her" Damien listened with interest at his friend.

"Nothing much to talk about. She was just unfortunate to be born with that eye colour. They were once living in the small village where my relatives are. When she was born, a lot of people started calling her an abomination. I had to intervene because it was getting ugly"

"And what did you do?"

"Nothing much, as someone who has traveled to different places and come across someone like her before, even worse than her, I had to take the pain to educate the villagers that such thing happened, to allay their fears"

Damien whose mind had already started calculating and thinking perhaps her eyes could be the Eyes they were looking for felt a little bit disappointed.

"Are you sure you've seen her type before?"

Marcus Lancaster laughed, "of course, my friend. I know what you're thinking. You're probably wishing that eyes was the one you've been obsessed with for years, right?"

Damien didn't bother to answer, since he was right. He looked at the weeping young girl with her dead father who still remained after everyone had gone. Deciding to keep a close watch, he promised to find out more about the girl, one needed to be sure her eyes just naturally have that colour as his friend claimed or it belonged to someone else.

Seraphine looked up when she felt a hand around her, "what are you doing?" She asked the man who roughly picked up her father's body and dumped it in a cart.

"You think your father would stay here forever? He needs to be moved to where his kind are, so we can use this place for the next person" the man spoke as he pulled the cart forward.

Scurrying after him, "where are you now taking him?"

"Are you deaf? To where his kinds are dumped" he shouted.

Seraphine tried to stop the cart, "no, you can't just dump him somewhere like a criminal. He is innocent! He deserved to be buried honourably"

The man yanked her hand away from the cart forcefully that she fell, "look here lass, I don't care if your father is innocent or not, I am just doing my job and if you waste my time again, I won't hesitate to give you a beating you'll never forget" he warned, "if you want to know where your father will be dumped, you can follow me quietly"

Without another word, he continued and Seraphine limped gently following the cart. Her whole body ached but not as terrible as her back which was where the stone had hit her.

Feeling teary about the pitiful situation of her father and lonely at the same time, knowing the only person she loved the most was no more, her heart broke, she was now all alone. She didn't know if Mrs Montgomery was now feeling better because she was the only adult aside from her father who could assist her. The thought of going back home or working for Mrs Ramsey would be too dreadful.

She perceived a repugnant odour which made her aware of her surroundings, realising they were now surrounded by trees, she saw a huge hole which the man stopped the cart at.

Covering her nose against the foul smell, she checked the inside of the hole and screamed, followed by her emptying the little food in her stomach on the grass.

The man laughed, "welcome to the bush of the dead. This is where we dump his kinds"

Seraphine couldn't have been more horrified at the gory sight she just saw. Burnt dead bodies were piled on another to rot, skeletons were also scattered in the hole, "is this where you'll dump him?"

"Do you need to ask again or you're just being dumb?"

Quickly on her knees, she started begging, Clasping her hands together, "please, release his body to me. I'll bury him"
