Since she had not come across a single person in the quiet corridor, she had not bothered to put her spectacle back on. As she opened the large double doors, the cool night air slapped on her face. Welcoming the goosebumps that rose on her arms due to the chilly breeze, Seraphine opened her arms wider, letting the cool breeze swirl around her. The bright flowers of the plants below stood out in the dark night, sniffing the air to perceive the mixture of its fragrance and the earthly scent, she let loose of her hair to relieve her scalp from the tight ponytail and to feel the air in every part of her scalp.

While basking in the cool night air and peaceful atmosphere, a sudden movement of light caught her attention. The yellowish ray of light was coming from a window not far from where she stood.

"Is someone having their own special party in there?" she thought, the light seemed to be dancing because of the the strange way it moved which made her even more curious. It couldn't be that a kid was playing with the light switch, could it?

Her curiosity was piqued either way, committing the location of the source of light to memory, she went back to the corridor to trace the door that might lead her to the room. Standing in front of the wooden door, there was no traces of a flickering light, perhaps the occupant had left before she arrived. With a strong urge to check the room, slowly, she wrapped her sweaty palm around the cold steel knob and turned it, as the door gave way without a sound, Seraphine peered into the already dark room that looked empty.

Could the person she assumed to be inside had left so fast, wondering how she didn't come across anyone on her way there.

Closing the door behind her as she entered the room which turned out to be a library, tall shelves of books filled the walls of the room. The books could use a larger room seeing how congested the place is. Captivated by the titles of some of the books she  laid her eyes on, which were mostly historical books about legendary gods and spirits, both the ones she had read about and the ones she didn't know.

"It seems Priscilla's family are obsessed with the legendary Phemerah" she whispered, seeing how most of the books were based on her. Wishing  she had enough time to fully explored the room, perhaps she could find something related to dreams but she dared not think about visiting another time, shivering a little as she thought of Priscilla Knox.

She was about to turn around and head to the door when she saw a flicker of light. the light shimmered from one of the books across the room. Following the reason where she was in the room in the first place. Seraphine knew she would be in trouble if she was caught because the light she had thought was flickering due to a person dancing around it or toying with it turned out to be coming from somewhere behind one of the shelves.

She tried to regulate her thumbing heart as she moved closer to the source, before she could reach out for the book where the light was streaming from, she heard voices outside the door.

In panic, she hurriedly search for the best place to hide, darting across the room once more where a large desk and a chair stood, it would be a bad idea to hide behind since the owner might want it use the table. Before the door could open fully, she saw a little space between the wall and a shelf, glad that her dress was not a full dress which allowed her squeeze herself between the tiny space, praying fervently not to be found out.

A voice spoke, "it's so dark in here, how do you find your way around here?" Aman in a dark waist coat with  pipe in his mouth asked his companion, " And I don't think our vampire eyes can suffice you in seeing the tiny letters in the books"

"I don't come here often at night, I prefer during the day when most of my household would still be asleep. The daylight is enough to see. Besides, I already know the content of most of the books, come see what I want to show you before we go back to the party" Seraphine guessed one of the voices belonged to Lord Knox.

"Is this what I think it is?"

Laughing, Lord Knox nodded, "yes, it is"

Perhaps, if the two men had not been preoccupied by the fascinating tiny creatures they were looking at, they would have heard a third racing heartbeat aside from theirs, fully engrossed by the specimen before them. Squinting her eyes to see through the small gap between the two men, her eyes widened when she saw what they were looking at, so that was the source of light which had been flickering all this while.

"Are you sure the werewolves aren't suspicious of you?" The other voice asked while admiring the creature in awe.

With confidence, Lord Knox replied, "relax, I'm sure. Even if they did, there was no way they could find the evidence. Don't you remember how you entered this place?"

Sighing, the man spoke, "let's go before they start looking for us. I'll come by in few days to look at it fully"

Giving them time to make sure they had gone, Seraphine backed away from the book which now look like a plague. As quietly as she could muster, she opened the door and stepped out.

A few steps away, she turned again to stare at the door which housed such creature? Who would have known that something like that could be inside the house?

"why are you staring at the wall? Is there anything of interest on it?" She must have been so lost in thought to be deaf to the sound of the footsteps that approached until the owner spoke.

Seraphine quickly put on her spectacle as she turned to Diane, "what wall?"

She looked at where Diane pointed at, "that wall. Where have you been hiding? We've been looking all over the place for you?" She stopped when she realised Seraphine was still staring at the wall.

"This can't be happening?" She couldn't believe that she was starring at the wall,. But isn't that where she just came out from?

Lifting her spectacle to peer at the supposed wall again, she saw the door. Serahpine knew there was more to what she was seeing, as much as she needed to share what she saw with someone, she held it in.

Quickly, she took Diane's hand and led her to the balcony, with her spectacle on, she knew even before she asked Diane question, "what can you see over there?" Pointing at the direction where she had seen the light earlier.

"Nothing, am I supposed to see something?"

"Never mind, let's go"

turning back again as Diane led the way, she lifted her spectacle and saw the flickering light. On her way down, she checked the wall again with and without her spectacle, seeing two different thing baffled her even more; a door and a wall
