Daniel Manchester watched the aloof witch as she stepped into the hall. His eyes has made it it's duty to be on the look out for her, which was why his aqua blue eyes, the lighter shade of his twin, turned brighter when they landed on Annaliese Witcharoft.

"Daniel, what do you think about the new policy on property taxes?" Drawing his attention back to the discussion he was having with one of his acquaintance.

Recently, he had not been in the mood of being in the opposite gender's company and since his friends were still on their way, he had decided to mingle with others, engaging in political discussion, an act which had made those that were familiar with his usual company raised an eyebrow, his parents in particular - his mother's eyebrows had raised higher than his father's.

Thinking of a casual way to reach the group not far from him, where Annaliese was, his luck came early when he sighted Seraphine and Felicity entered.

Daniel briefly threw a quick glance at Annaliese who had left the group to join the two ladies, excusing himself politely from the group, he never knew political discussion could be that boring until then, deciding to leave political matters to his parents and Xavier whom he was confident would be able to handle it.

"I think I need to ponder more on my thoughts about the taxes, excuse me gentlemen, I'll find you as soon as I sum up my opinion" managing to snag three glasses of champagne from one of the servants, he made his way to join the ladies.

"Ladies, I have to say, you're looking more radiant tonight" handing them a glass one after the other, deliberately, he handed Annaliese the last glass, ensuring to brush his fingers over hers, "here you go" flashing his brightest smile at the redhead in a white dress who politely smiled back as she took the glass.

"What a gentleman" Felicity complimented, "you look handsome as usual" she winked. Seraphine nodded as well, grateful for the drink.

Daniel observed the witch through his peripheral vision, wanting to see if she thought the same as the ladies. Annaliese however concentrated on her drink and the other guests, oblivious of his gaze.

Daniel had never been one who took extra care in trying to impress a lady, in fact, it had always been the opposite gender, throwing themselves at him, which made him feeling unsettled when Annaliese showed indifference, taking it as a challenge to get the witch notice him, Daniel swore to himself that he would make it happen.

"Where's Diane?" Seraphine looked around in search of her bold and blonde vampire friend, if she was around, it won't be long for her to find her. Diane was not the quiet type, she would easily be found in any group she was.

She knew it was just an excuse to search the room openly for Xavier. Seraphine had been battling with her emotion concerning the vampire, she knew she was attracted to him, but she needed to be sure he did the same.

Seraphine knew quite well how deceitful vampires are, especially when it comes to toying with females, she wanted to be sure if Xavier truly was attracted to her or he was just stringing her along. Although he had not done anything to make her conclude he was anything but a gentleman. In fact, unlike Francis and Daniel who would always be found in the midst of ladies, Xavier had been the opposite.

That had reassured her a little that he couldn't have been toying him her, remembering his thoughtful gestures and care which he had shown since they became closer, she was sure the vampire felt something towards her, subconsciously, she rubbed her neck, the spot where his lips had touched weeks ago.

"Why are your cheeks red?" Felicity smirked at her friend, "remembering something naughty?"

Seraphine scowled, glaring at her.
