"Let go of her, Stephen"

Xavier spoke as he watched his cousin pinned  the human on the wall of the pawn shop, he knew if he reacted by trying to free the poor girl from his grip, he might take things further, which was why he had stayed where he was, after some seconds, he watched him let go.

The girl scrambled off the floor, moving far away from him as she  coughed continuously while Stephen turned to him, laughing, "dear cousin, so happy to see you came to get me. I had thought you would leave me to myself and let me walk all the way home without a ride."

Xavier had wanted to do just that until he glanced up when his carriage passed by the shop. With a feeling of wanting to check inside, he had gone in, right on time to save the girl from the clutches of his cousin.

Ignoring the dimwit in front of him, he walked to where he once known the kitchenette to be and poured water for the girl who was recovering from a near death experience.

"Are you ok?" Looking down on the girl, "here" he moved the cup towards her.

Without looking up, she took it and downed the content. Feeling better a little,  Seraphine adjusted her spectacle, thankful that she had had the initiative to tie a string around it so as to hang loosely around her neck whenever she wasn't wearing it. The string had saved it from falling and being broken when that barbaric idiot pushed her. With her spectacle in place, she eyed the man who offered her water, dressed in a similar manner as the stupid Stephen in  a dark waistcoat, white dress shirt with wrinkles around its sleeves which showed it had been rolled up several times, with a loose necktie and dark trouser.

Standing upright, Xavier looked closely at the girl, she was no girl but a lady as it appeared. She looked so young in that pinafore, with a scarf covering the larger part of her dark hair. He guessed she was the manager of the shop.

Seraphine walked towards the door and flung it open, "I'm fine but if you don't mind, I would like for you both to leave" looking directly at Xavier since he seemed to be more sensible than his cousin.

Since he was already late for his next appointment anyway, he didn't wait any further, he strode out," let's go." Briefly, he glanced at her neck, already seeing her neck which was getting black by the second, Xavier balled his hand into fist in his pocket as he exited the shop, he was not one to interfere in other people's businesses, if not that he knew the headache which could have come along with a vampire punishing a human, he would have just ignored his cousin.

To ensure Stephen will not cause more harm to the girl, Xavier turned to him, "use my carriage to explore the rest of the town as you wish" leaving no room for any argument, he turned to his coachman to inform him, he would find his way to his destination somehow.

Stephen also knew his limit when it comes to testing Xavier's patience, he had sensed his cousin wasn't in the mood to tolerate his current shenanigans.  Sensible enough to know when to comply, he smirked at Seraphine who was watching through the window, "I'll be off then" he strolled into the carriage.

Seraphine flung the door open when she heard the blonde vampire knocked at the pawn shop, standing on the doorstep to pass the message that he wasn't welcomed into the shop, anger brewed behind her spectacle as she looked at the owner of the factory. She kept standing while waiting for him to speak.

Xavier  glanced at the discolouration already forming around her neck, "next time, when you see a creature who might overpower you easily, I would advise you look for a means to get yourself out of the situation that won't involve claiming your life" without saying another word, he left.

The mortified look on her face as she stared at the despicable man whom she thought was going to apologise on his cousin's behalf was priceless.

She didn't know her mouth was still hanging open until she heard the old man said, "is your mouth the new habitat for flies now?"
