"Are you sure you can keep going?" Xavier held onto her, looking down at her as she leaned against the wall, with her eyes closed.

Seraphine took a long breath before nodding, "yes, just let me catch my breath and we'll continue"

"We could end it for today and continue tomorrow" Annaliese suggested as she massaged her back.

The process of restoring the wolves' memories was quite a hassle, especially for Seraphine who had to stare at the memories and go through it to discern the content.

The first attempt in identifying the memory owner had been difficult. Annaliese had been a calm and wonderful teacher, taking her time to put her through.

"I want you to keep your mind free and let go of any cumbersome matter" she spoke as she guided her on how to sieve the memories. "If you had fully possessed the Eyes, it would have been easy. A glance at it will let you know but since your body is still in preparation of the guest which we don't know when it will visit you, we just have to make do with the little energy your current eyes have for now"

Both Seraphine and Xavier listened attentively, digesting the witch's words and also understanding why she failed to see the memories at a second glance.

"One of the perks you enjoy at the moment even though the Eyes are absent is your ability to see in the dark"

Seraphine looked at the witch in surprised, wondering how she knows, "how much of people's hidden secrets do you know?"

With a solemn face, the witch answered, "I wish I didn't know them, believe me. Imagine knowing something about people and not being able to tell unless when you're permitted to do so, knowing a particular person is in danger but they cannot be warned"

Remembering Francis' case, Seraphine nodded, despite the fact that she fully couldn't imagine what the witch was going through, she understood how frustrating it can be.

Annaliese guided her to the pentagram on the floor, she stationed her on the edge, placing one of the eggs on her palm, "keep staring at the egg, I'll channel my energy to yours to aid you, do not let your gaze waver" she warned.

Seraphine looked over at shoulder one last time at Xavier. The vampire whose attention had been solely on her the whole time, gave her a slight nod before she entered the room. The room was designed with a huge translucent glass on one side, making it possible for whoever is at the other side to see what was going on.

Seraphine gaze at the illuminating egg, she could hear Annaliese muttering incomprehensible words underground, abruptly, she felt a tingling sensation shot at her from her direction, like a bolt of lightning. With her unwavering gaze pouring on the egg, she felt a pull like being pulled into a memory.

Seraphine found herself in a dark room, the only source of light was from the centre where the families were seen eating together, at the other side of the room, she saw some children playing with objects, a man was holding one of the kids with joy beaming from his face. As she studied her surroundings, she was pulled to another memory, she saw the same man and this time around, with a female in a tight embrace.

She was pulled back to reality after some minutes, "what did you see?"

"I know the owner of this egg" raising it, she checked the face of each werewolf that Annaliese had put to sleep. "That one" pointing at the only man she had seen in all the memory, the same one that was playing with a child.

"What if I was wrong?" Pausing the witch from taking the egg from her.

"Then the spell will not work, it will reject the memory from joining the rest"
