Seraphine took off the stiff spectacle the moment she stepped into Xavier's carriage. Not used to its hard and pointed handle unlike the previous one, she wrapped her arms around her body while waiting for Xavier to narrate what happened after she lost consciousness to her.

"You know the more you put it on, the more it's hinges will be flexible and easy to use" Xavier took the spectacle from her.

"I know, since I'll use it most of the time, I'll get used to it. I'm just still not comfortable with putting something on my eyes just yet, my eyes still tingles" she lightly rubbed them in circles.

Xavier opened and closed the spectacle as he asked "How did you know Francis was in danger?" They had thought since Knox was dead, no harm would come to Francis anymore.

"I just felt an overpowering need to check out the place again, so I knew it had to be Francis in danger. I tried to stop the men but was pushed away" she massaged the shoulder where she landed after the push, "the last thing I remembered was shouting when one of the men was about to stab him"

While flexing the temples of the spectacle, Xavier asked, "after shouting, did you feel anything, perhaps in your eyes?"

She thought for few seconds before speaking up, "I felt different before finally losing consciousness. I could hear myself scream but I couldn't see anything. Did something happen?" Looking straight into his bright green eyes.

"Before you fell, your eyes had completely changed to colour purple" Xavier stared at her now colourless eyes.

"Really?" She looked at the glass window to check the reflection of her eyes. Looking to see if she could find anything as a clue.

"Yes, really. The men who attacked Francis were held captive by your eyes. By the time I got there, they were scared beyond reasoning. They claimed they had never seen someone with a purple eyes before. One claimed to be on fire, another said you were strangling him"

Seraphine gasped with disbelief, "me? I don't recall doing such" she exclaimed.

"If you hadn't lost consciousness, which I guess it has to do with you not fully possessing the eyes yet, I believe you would've killed them yourself "

She swallowed, frightened to hear she could have taken someone else's life.

"It seems you still don't understand the gravity of being the bearer of Phemerah's Eyes. Every power hungry men would be looking for you. They would want to own you and if you refuse, they would not think twice before plucking the eyes off its sockets."

Her body shook, jerking when the carriage hit a gallop, she swallowed again, looking away from Xavier's intense gaze.

"We need to stop Knox's partner from whatever he might be planning. I can assure you it has something to do with Phemerah's Eyes. Imagine if one of the men had escaped"

A part of her was glad no one escaped Xavier's wrath, because by now, she could be in danger.

"How do you think we can stop him" she shivered despite the multi-layered cloth she was putting on.

"That's where you come in. The only way we can identify the man is through you. You've heard his voice before. With Alpha Weinroff's help, you'll get to meet the elite members of the society, including vampires. Hopefully, you'll see him soon."

Fully invested in putting an end to things on time, she agreed quickly.

Xavier handed her the spectacle as they got to the shop.

"Thank you" seeing that the hinges are more flexible than before, "I really appreciate everything" admiring the pretty face vampire who as usual only returned her appreciation with a blanked expression.
