The muffled voices behind the door became quiet when Xavier opened the door. Everyone stared at Seraphine in amazement except Xavier and Annaliese who knew her secret all along.
"Is it true you're Phemerah?" Diane who couldn't restrain her anticipation asked.
"She's not Phemerah, she only have her eyes" Daniel answered.
Seraphine took off her spectacle instead.
"This is incredible" Diane moved towards her, examining her eyes, "I have never seen this shade of purple before" mesmerised by the iris which seemed to alternate different shades of purple as Seraphine blinked, Diane stood directly in front of her to admire the work of art.
"Neither have I" Seraphine widened her eyes which was full of amusement to allow her friend gaze into it even more.
"Could you move away so the rest of us could see it too?" Her twin pulled her back to her seat.
"How are you?" The ever thoughtful Francis asked with concern, referring to the wound on her nape.
"I'm fine" Seraphine looked across as she sighted Annaliese, she hurried to her side, "hey" taking her hand in hers affectionately, "how are you?"
Annaliese knew her question was beyond asking about her wound but also about her near encounter with being defiled.
"It's nothing" Annaliese gave her a reassuring smile before squeezing her hand, "the colour suits you by the way" changing the subject, Seraphine knew she didn't want to dwell on the matter. Moving to the only empty seat beside Diane, Seraphine turned to Annaliese who asked about her sight.
"It's quite amazing, I can see things as far as the fish in that stream" pointing towards the clearing.
"You mean from here?" Diane gasped in surprise and she nodded.
"How were you able to see the exact place where the nucleus of the witcharves was hiding deep down in my flesh?"
Annaliese deliberately asked the question, despite the fact that she knew what her response would be. She did that to subtly hint Xavier that sooner, definitely not later, Seraphine would discover his secret. People who are gifted with power, especially vision, just like seers sometimes see more than what they bargain for.
The fact that Phemerah's eyes is now occupying Seraphine's, there is a high tendency of her discovering his secret on time, purposely or accidentally. She met Xavier's gaze who had caught on, on her enquiry.
"I think I might be able to see what is hidden behind the skin if I concentrated hard enough, not only the flesh though." Fixing her gaze on the closed shelf behind Xavier.
"There are books on Greek mythology in the shelf, the red book on the left reads, 'Alexander the great', there's a pen knife tucked in between the green and blue books at the left.
Daniel went behind Xavier and opened the shelf, "this is amazing" he exclaimed, opening the door wider for all to see.
"Great! Now we know nothing can be hidden from you" Francis commented.
"Another reason why everyone would want to own you" the thread of worry which wound around Xavier's voice could easily be detected.
"Let's not forget that she can see through anybody's gaze, be it human or animals" the witch added.
"Wait" Diane put up her hands up, "are you saying that my friend right here can see through my eyes, as in, she can see what I've seen before?"
"Yes, I saw through Phoenix' eyes, that was how I knew the dogs were being abused"
