Seraphine placed a hand over her mouth, yawning as she descended the stairs, she could hear the clinking of plates coming from the kitchenette, which means the old man was up.

Her eyes wandered round the shop, bulging out of its sockets when they landed on the book, "holy molly!" She ran and picked it up, checking for damages or signs that might give her an idea of where it had been all the while they had been looking for it.

"What is the noise about? It's too early to display your madness around the house" Mr. Pawn snapped.

Rolling her eyes, she ignored his comment, "look what I found" raising the book up for him to see.

"Where did you find it?"

"Right on top of the counter, like it has always been there all along"  still in the spirit of amazement by the sudden appearance of the book, "do you think it's no ordinary book?"

He scoffed, "obviously, it's the only explanation for its disappearance"  pointing at the 'close sign' on the door, "we've not even attended to customers today which we could have said someone dropped it." Scratching his chin to recall a memory, "and I would've noticed yesterday if it was on the counter"

Bearing in mind to take the book to Annaliese who might have an idea of its source or anything about it, she quickly opened to the part where a creature like Leonard Lancaster was mentioned.

Xavier stared at the figurine on his desk, his mind totally on the news Herbert just delivered. He had immediately summoned him as soon as he got back the night before to make an enquiry about a man who had worked in the factory before and had a moon shape mark under his eyes.

"Here are all the documents of past workers under the former management" Herbert placed the files on the table. He purposely put the file of the moon shaped man at the top. He had made enquiry about the man, tracing his whereabouts until he suddenly met a dead end.

All his informants that morning had come back with no positive findings, it was as if the man had just disappeared from the face of the earth.

"You can go" dismissing the butler, Xavier picked the piece of paper, staring at it while waiting for the door to open. He had felt his friends' presence and knew they would enter any second soon.

"What are you staring at?" Daniel went behind Xavier, peering over his head to read the document.

Francis sat across him, curious to hear the content of the paper he was holding.

"I need to find this person" Xavier pushed the paper towards him, "do you know any pack that uses a moon shape as some sort of identification?"

"Why are you looking for him"

"He seemed to be one of the people who accused Seraphine's father of theft, not accused, he was one of the three who planned it"

Sitting straighter, Francis looked intently at the rough sketch of the man, particularly at the shape of the moon under his eyes, "there's a pack who used to draw the shape of a moon in some parts of their body for easy identification, but that was a long time ago. In fact, I don't think they exist anymore. Their pack was raided by rogues a long time ago"

"How did you know about the man?" Daniel asked.

"Seraphine just found out about him"

"Herbert is more than capable of looking for him, why aren't you using him?"

"He tried but found nothing "

"That's new, perhaps he is no more"

"His grave was no where to be found"
