Nova's outfit:
Nova walked down Queens, on the way to run some errands. It had been a day since she came back to the city, she had plans to meet Sam later in the evening. Nova had her headphones in as she almost skipped, looking down at the pavement, not really paying attention to anything around her. Suddenly someone pushed her into an alleyway, shoving her against the wall. Her headphones came off, she looked at the man, he was pointing a gun at her, this was comical to her, she smirked a bit.
"Hey, Lady, wallet! Now!" He gestured his gun at her.
"What?" She said almost chuckling.
"You fucking bitch, give me your wallet now!" He screamed. Something triggered in her, an itch scratched. Like a bullet pulled out of a wound, causing blood to spill everywhere. She froze.
Thud! Thud! Thud! "Nova, you fucking bitch, open the fucking door!" He screamed.
Nova sat still on her bed, glaring at the shaking door. She blinked, Don't you dare fucking cry. She thought.
Thud! Thud! Thud! "I'm gonna fucking kill you! Open the goddamn door!" His voice disrupted the room. Every thud at the door, made Nova's heart jump.
She got up, and opened the door. There he stood, scowling at Nova. She looked him right in the eyes, she wasn't scared, she wasn't gonna act like she was. "What. do. you. want." She said through gritted teeth.
"Oh right, it's all about fucking Nova. You're fucking ruining this day, like you ruin every single day. I love your mother, but it doesn't mean I have to deal with pieces of shit like you!" He spat.
"Oh, you love my mother? You really showed your love through all the bruises you gave her." She retorted.
"Nova. Don't make this fucking hard for me. Now you're gonna go back to the kitchen, and we're gonna have a nice fucking calm dinner." He demanded. She stood there for a moment, giving him a piercing look. She didn't have a choice.
She moved past him, and walked to the kitchen, there sat her miserable and tired mother. Nova sat down at the table. He sat down at the head of the table, an accomplished smile on his face, "See, now that wasn't so fucking hard."
Nova didn't look up at him, she stared a hole into her food. Blinking away her tears. Blink. Blink. Blink. One day things will be different.
"The fuck's wrong with you? Give me the fucking wallet!" The mugger shouted. Bringing Nova back out of the memory. She stared at him, glazed and wide eyed. She was frozen.
I could get out of this. Why? Why can't I move? What's happening? I'm fine. I'm fine. It's fine. I'm fine.
The guy lost his patience he took a step closer to Nova, planning on taking her stuff himself by force. She didn't do anything, at least she didn't plan to. Blue mist surrounded her. Her brown eyes turned blue, bluer than usual, completely blue. Her skin turned icy. The mugger looked at her in horror.
Just then, he was lifted up into the sky and terrifyingly slammed into the opposite wall, causing some of the bricks to fall out, he fell unconscious.
Nova's energy surge calmed down. She examined at the unconscious body of the mugger, terrified. She stumbled out the alleyway. Terrified, of herself, and of everything she tried to lock up in a box and shove away.
Her heart started pounding in her chest. Thud! Thud! Thud! She tried to blink away the memory, the noise in her head. Her chest started to tighten, she held her throat, falling to her knees in the middle of the sidewalk, she tried to breathe, but she couldn't. She coughed and gasped for air.
A woman and what seemed to be her preteen son noticed Nova. The woman looked concerned, they were almost the only people on that street. She cautiously walked up to a panicking Nova. "Hey, are you okay?" She softly asked.
Nova looked up at her, wide eyed, "Yeah. No, no, I can't- I can't breathe." Nova tried to communicate.
The woman bent down in-front of Nova, she put her hand on Nova's back, "Honey, do you have any concerning medical history, something this could be related to?" She asked politely. Nova shook her head, still in a mode of panic. "Well then, I think you may be experiencing a panic attack." She stated.
Nova looked at her perplexed as if the woman had just told her something unbelievable, "What? Oh, right. Oh okay. A panic attack. Right." She said out of breath.
"Did something happen to you before this?" She inquired.
"Yeah," Nova shut her eyes close, "I remembered, uh, something."
"Then it's definitely a panic attack, Come on." The woman held Nova's hand, helping her up, "Let's get you something to drink." Nova got up, still a bit in shock. "I'm May, and this is my nephew, Peter." She pointed to the little kid.
Nova gave the kid a crooked smile and an awkward wave, he smiled wide at her. "I'm Nova." She said shyly.

"Look, honey, it's nothing to worry about, I get them all the time, you'll get used to it." May assured Nova, who was sipping a juice box and quietly nodding. They were in a grocery store. Her 'Panic Attack' had gone away, she was feeling a bit better, more relaxed, and absolutely not ready to deal with anything that had happened.
"Thank you so much, for helping me, I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't showed up." Nova thanked her.
"Oh, don't worry about it! Are you from around here?" She asked Nova.
"Well, yeah, I live in Queens, but my dad lives in Manhattan so I go back and forth a lot." Nova explained.
"Oh, Manhattan! Your dad must be a very successful man then." She commented.
Nova nodded her head, "Sort of." She joked, a joke only funny to her at the moment.
"Oh, there is something I forgot to get! I'll be right back," She looked at Peter, "Pete you stay here with Nova." May hurried down one of the isles.
Peter squinted at Nova, Nova looked down at him, raising her eyebrow. "Are you a superhero?" He bluntly asked.
"What?" Nova replied. "No, I'm not."
"Yes you are! You were on the news! With Captain America and Iron Man! You're the blue one!" He practically shouted.
"Shh! Shh!" She said looking around. Nova crouched down so she was face to face with Peter. "Our little secret." She held out her pink, Peter interlocked it with his. "And if you tell anyone, then..." She waved her fingers around, engulfing them with a blue aura. Peter gaped at her powers.
"I wanna be a superhero, where do I sign up?" Peter naively said. Nova smiled at him.
