Follows through the journey of Nova Adler, her finding a path towards life as an avenger and dealing with the hardships that come along with it, all while finding a family within them, a fa...
Nova fluttered open her eyes. Her eyebrows furrowed due to the sunlight piercing through the windows. She was in the clothes from last night, dishevelled. Her head throbbing and her mouth dry.
She slowly sat up straight, her eyes immediately darting to a sight she never thought she'd see. Steve Rogers fast asleep on the floor of her bedroom.
"Steve?" she almost whispered, she could barely speak due to her having lost her voice after screaming too many songs last night.
He didn't wake up.
Suddenly, Rain decided to sniff Steve's face and meow really close to him. He was awoken by the tickling caused by Rain's whiskers. He chuckled slightly, and petted Rain.
As he averted his gaze upwards, his eyes met with Nova's. "Steve?" Nova repeated. "What are you doing on my floor?"
~
Nova held her head in her hands sitting on the kitchen table as Steve made her coffee. They were all alone, the avengers were still asleep.
"God!" Nova groaned, "I'm so sorry!"
Steve had just finished filling in Nova about what had occurred last night.
"Don't be." he handed her the coffee mug, and sat down in front of her. "It's completely fine."
"Thanks for not letting me, you know, die on the dance floor." she remarked.
"Oh, I couldn't have. Imagine how dull my life would be." he sipped his coffee and smiled.
Nova didn't know what to say in response. "God! this is even more embarrassing than that time I sneaked out and went to a Star Wars convention." she revealed.
"Right...I've heard of Star Wars. Never saw it." Steve said.
Nova was wide eyed. "Oh my god! Right! You're a Star Wars virgin!"
"Um, I guess you can say that." he said.
"Oh my god! You need to watch it!" she exclaimed.
"You know, I was planning on watching it, on a day that I wasn't fighting aliens or killer robots." Steve revealed.
"Oh my god, what a coincidence, that sounds like a day just like today!" Nova said sarcastically. "Tonight we're watching Star Wars, done deal."
"I get the feeling that there's no way of getting out of this under any circumstances." he said. Nova confidently shook her head. "Good. I wasn't planning on it." he said as he got up to go back to his room.
Nova's lips curled up. Suddenly she thought of something, and furrowed her brows. She turned around, "Wait, Steve," he looked back at her, "Why'd you sleep on the floor? You could have gone back to your room."
He raised his eyebrows slightly, pondering for a moment. "I don't know," he said, "I didn't want to." Nova nodded slightly and looked down at the floor.
~
Steve and Nova sat closely on the couch in her room, on the tv played Star Wars. "Wait, but I don't get it, why are we starting from episode 4?" he asked obliviously.
"Well, this is the first Star Wars film to ever come out, the director George Lucas, he intended on telling the story from the middle." Nova explained. Steve gave her a confused look, she chuckled lightly and said, "Just watch it."
Nova began the movie, constantly averting her gaze towards Steve. Watching him watch the movie, focusing on his expressions and wondering what he's thinking. Darth Vader appeared on screen. "That's Darth Vader, he's like the most powerful villain ever." she whispered.
"More than the people we fight?" Steve asked.
"So far, probably." she said, "He can move things with his mind, you know who else can do that?" she joked, Steve looked at her and smiled.
They reached the scene where Obi Wan gives Luke his lightsaber. "That's a lightsaber, it's like the coolest weapon ever." she whispered.
"I'm sure Tony can make one for you." Steve joked.
"Oh he can, we did. It didn't end well. Pepper has officially banned them from the house." she revealed.
Steve chuckled, "I'm not even gonna ask."
They finished the movie. Nova looked over to Steve as the end credits rolled. "Wait, that's it? They didn't get Vader?" he said.
"Yeah, well they're not gonna get Vader now, sometimes you don't succeed at your first go huh." Nova explained.
"Well, it was great. I really liked it." Steve smiled.
Nova started playing the next part. "Wait what's this?" he asked confused.
"Oh, we're gonna watch all the three parts tonight." Nova said.
"Um," Steve hesitated.
"Come on Steve, people in the 70s had to wait like 2 years to find out what happened next, you have to wait 2 minutes, be grateful." she joked.
Steve chuckled. "Alright fine, but before, I had to give u something." Nova furrowed her brows curiously. Steve pulled out a necklace from his pocket.

"I was cleaning my suit out the other day, and I found this. I forgot I had it." He handed it to Nova.
She smiled, admiring it. "It's really beautiful Steve." she said.
"I found it in the rubble, during Sokovia. Right before we left. I was walking towards the helicarriers and it just caught my eye." Steve recalled. "Something told me to pick it up. It reminded me of, you, us. Blue and red. Well i wanted you to have it."
"That's really sweet. You technically committed a felony, I'm honoured." Nova remarked. Steve laughed.
He offered to put it on her, she lifted up her blue hair and he put it on her. "It looks great on you." he said.

"Wait! What?" he said, his voice raised, "He's his father? How?"
Nova watched him freak out over the plot twist, her lips turned into a cheeky smile and creases appeared by her eyes. She would never forget this.
"He just is." she said.
"Wait," Steve almost had an existential crisis in his head trying to figure it out, "But how? Obi Wan said his father was killed by Darth Vader."
Nova laughed and turned on the movie, "Just watch it!" she said.
