Chapter 30: Vision

The four headed to Tony's lab. As they walked in, they caught Tony and Banner in the process of, yet again, creating something, out of the body in Ultron's crater. Nova was disappointed, she didn't want Wanda and Pietro to be right, but now she was afraid they maybe were.

"I'm gonna say this once!" Steve said as he walked in, making their presence known.

"How about nonce." Tony replied.

"You never learn, do you?" Nova said disappointed.

"Honey, you have to trust me." Tony tried, but Nova was furious.

"Shut it down!" Steve commanded angrily.

"Nope, not gonna happen." Tony said casually.

"You don't know what you're doing!" Steve argued.

"And you do? She's not in your head?" Bruce referred to Wanda.

"I know you're angry." Wanda said.

"Oh, we're way past that. I could choke the life out of you and never change a shade." Bruce threatened.

"Banner, after everything that's happened—"

"That's nothing compared to what's coming!" Tony flaunted.

"Dad! You need to stop this!" Nova intervened.

While everyone argued, Pietro decided to dismantle the lab equipment in one swift run, causing everyone to go quiet. "No, no. Go on. You were saying?" He remarked. Just then Clint shot at the glass Pietro was standing on, causing him to fall through.

"I'm rerouting the upload." Tony said.

Just then Steve threw his shield towards him. Tony attracted his hand blasters, pointing them at Steve. Nova used her powers to stop Tony from shooting at Steve. "Dad." She warned.

"Nova! You said I was going to save the avengers, well let me do it!" He asserted, breaking out of her force hold, and shooting at Steve, causing him to fall back. Nova was furious.

A fight broke out between the avengers, till Thor abruptly arrived. Without wasting a second, he stood up on the cradle and put his hammer up in the air, lightning fluttered through the room. Everyone stopped in their tracks. The power overloaded.

Suddenly there was an explosion, and out came a red coloured body with a stone in the middle of it's head. Vision. Everyone looked at him bewildered, he returned the look.

He instantly lunged towards Thor, who threw him towards the window, but Vision stopped himself before hitting it. Everyone got cautious and ready to attack, but Thor signalled them not to.

"I'm sorry, that was...odd." He apologised to Thor. His voice resembled Jarvis' almost completely. "Thank you." He focused his gaze on Thor and then appeared a cape on his body out of thin air.

"I've had a vision. A whirlpool that sucks in all hope of life and at its center is that." Thor pointed to the gem on Vision's head.

"What, the gem?" Bruce asked.

"It's the Mind Stone. It's one of the six Infinity Stones, the greatest power in the universe, unparalleled in its destructive capabilities." Thor informed.

"Then why would you bring it to..." Steve asked.

"Because Stark is right." Thor said. Nova felt a sense of relief, she looked at Tony apologetically. "The Avengers cannot defeat Ultron."

"Not alone." Vision said. "You think I'm a child of Ultron?"

"You're not?" Steve said.

"I'm not Ultron. I'm not JARVIS. I am... I am." Vision claimed.

"Are you? On our side?" Steve asked.

"I am on the side of life. Ultron isn't, he will end it all." Vision said.

"I don't want to kill Ultron. He's unique, and he's in pain. But that pain will roll over the earth, so he must be destroyed. Every form he's built, every trace of his presence on the net, we have to act now. And not one of us can do it without the others. Maybe I am a monster. I don't think I'd know if I were one. I'm not what you are, and not what you intended. So there may be no way to make you trust me. But we need to go." Vision said as he picked up Thor's hammer and handed it to him.

The room fell quiet. Vision nonchalantly walked away. Nova's eyes were wide open. "Holy crap!" Nova exclaimed.

"Language!" Bruce, Tony, and Clint all said in unison.
