the Avengers were in the process of infiltrating a Hydra base in Sokovia, making their way through the woods and fighting soldiers. Tony and Nova were flying up together, fighting off soldiers.
Tony and Nova flew up, hitting a force shield, "Shit!" Tony cursed.
"Language!" Steve said through his com, Nova looked at Tony and giggled. The two continued to fight off Hydra soldiers, while the rest of the avengers continued their banter on the coms.
"Wait a second. No one else is going to deal with the fact that Cap just said 'language'?" Tony interfered.
"I know, it just slipped out." Steve said embarrassed.
"Yeah Dad, what do expect from a 100 year old?" Nova teased, she could sense Steve's eye roll.
"Sir, the city is taking fire." Jarvis informed.
"Well, we know Strucker's not going to worry about civilian casualties. Send in the Iron Legion." Tony commanded.
Nova had developed her powers a lot more the last few months, the things that happened with Bucky, she knew she was capable of a lot more, she just didn't know how to control it. She had also dealt with a lot of powerful outbursts, she tried working on them, they were linked with all the awful memories she didn't want to think about. Therefore to control them, she had to be back there, and she couldn't bring herself to do it. She didn't tell anyone about it, not even Tony and Nova was fully aware that it was stupid not to, and that it would blow up in her face, but sometimes the right thing is also the hardest thing.
"We have an enhanced in the field!" Steve spoke. Nova was intrigued so she flew over to Steve.
She landed next to him, "Hey, what was it?"
"Some sort of blur." He speculated
"Blur?" She repeated, but then she was quickly knocked down by something she couldn't even get a good look at. She laid on the ground for a second, "Yeah— Okay, I see what you mean." She said through gritted teeth.
"The enhanced?" Thor asked Steve.
"He's a blur. All the new player's we've faced, I've never seen this. In fact, I still haven't." Steve remarked.
"Clint's hit pretty bad, guys. We're gonna need evac." Nat spoke.
"Hold on, I'll fly him up to the jet." Nova said as she flew towards Clint.
